While the property itself was a little beat up, the staff was friendly, the beds were comfy, our kids enjoyed the pool, and it was great being able to bring our dog.

The room smelled of urine. It was unbearable. There were bugs on the bed. I never leave negative complaints but this was unacceptable. I would not feel comfortable keeping my children here. We did not use the room but Expedia and the property denied us a refund.

This hotel is good and service friendly, and breakfast has some options for regular families… good to stay one night or two for the price.

Staff at the front desk was great but no free breakfast like what the ad said. The place is convenient if you’re visiting Starved Rock. At the time we checked in there was a group of families also checked in for a baseball tournament and it was loud. One of the rooms smelled like mildew. It was at a convenient location and there’s a mcdonald’s and a diner near there. It did the job for an overnight stay because we were wiped from hiking the whole day

This hotel has extremely thin walls and ceilings. We could hear the guests above us and it sounded like they were moving furniture in their room. My husband heard the guest in the next room snoring for over 2 hours (2am-4am). We usually have some tollerance for this. However, in the morning, we were face timing our family for Mother's Day and we received a call from the front desk to keep our voices down as we were distrubing other guests. I was a little taken aback as I have never recieved a complaint call before. So I replied do you mean the guests next door who kept my husband up with his snoring? I said I think the walls are very thin and it is a structural issue with hotel. SHE hung up on me. I felt this was unprofessional. When we visit the area again, we will stay somewhere else.
