Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Manteno, IL

We have stayed here many times due to family visits near by. The rooms are aging and need some updating, otherwise, very happy with price, location and excellent staff.

The hotel was non-smoking in a convenient quiet location. I did call around 7:30pm to inform the hotel of my very late arrival, and the hotel accommodated me. With tornadoes in the area, the hotel was ill prepared for the influx of visitors. This was obvious because our room lacked maid service on our second day. I had to ask the front desk for TP, towels, and trash bags. The front desk attendant lacked a supply of fresh towels. I dropped off our used towels and returned later for some fresh ones. It was obvious that the hotel was short staffed. The duvet was stained. In addition, the bathroom showed the hotels age (water damaged walls, screws in the door. There were protein (peanut butter, yogurt, eggs, sausage, milk) options at the breakfast. Freezer needed defrosting. I did not use the microwave, hairdryer, phone or iron/board. There was no money left in the bible. TV was big enough. The bed was comfortable. There was a useable luggage rack, old school, nice touch. Wooden hangers both clipped and unclipped. The hotel was family friendly. It was not great, but it was not awful.

Service was terrible got there and was told we didn't have a room which they then found we did. Called before hand and asked to be placed next to our friends they said yes then when we got there told us they didn't mark that. Pool was extremely small and no towels. Hotel smelt like weed and they said they couldn't smell it when clearly we all could and it was seeping into our room. Breakfast had nothing and they wouldn't refill the items they did have at 6:45 am . Shower leaked all over the floor and toilet seat was so nasty my daughter didn't want to use it. Charged us an extra 50.00 dollar fee and said they will release it in a few days and we were never told about it in the beginning. They didn't want the kids even walking around the guy followed us around like we were robbing the place.

Chose this motel for it's reputation (had relatives and friends stay before), proximity to my family, amenities (didn't get a chance to use the pool but breakfast all 3 mornings was a nice touch) room was comfortable with a choice of pillows, quiet third floor room and reasonable rate.

My child got sick from the pool and had to go to the ER. He was then transported from the ER to childrens hospital in Chicago where he stayed overnight to have his breathing monitored. There was too much chlorine in the pool, which we believe caused the reaction. He was the only one out of 5 kids that had this reaction. The other kids experienced burning skin/eyes and bleached clothing. We, the parents, did not swim but we were in the pool area and we also experienced burning eyes/nostrils.

The stay was terrible. They decided to have the front (handicap accessible) entrance torn up during the stay. I had a handicapped child with me. Bathroom was dirty and the vanity was btoken. Arir conditioner was so loud we couldn't sleep. Complimentary breakfast was cold. Very awful place i will not be recommending to anybody.

Blood and blood stains on the comforters, not enough tissues or toilet paper. The front part of the sink was beginning to fall off. The breakfast was good but not enough of it. Ran out of the eggs, muffins, toast.... There was a tornado warning in the area and the motel did not inform us. We heard about because our phones emergency broadcast went off. So we checked the local weather and the were showing a tornado warning in Manteno where we were staying. My family and I stood by the elevator as very high winds and downpouring of rain hit the motel. Thank God no one was hurt....:(

This was close to where we needed to meet friends and family. Lady at front desk very dry and rude Hotel overall okay just lower end Country Inn and Suites clean in side lobby and room dirty outside property looked a little run down. Rooms stale smell

Did not feel welcome at all at arrival. Check out was equally non impressive. Felt like I was a bother. Rooms just didn’t feel clean. A new coat of paint and some fresh carpet would do this place wonders. Weed smell in hallway was always strong. Pool full of kids all day and night. Would not recommend.

I recently stayed here 2 nights with my 3 children. At almost 1am we had someone trying to get in our room advising that the front desk told them the room was empty. When that happened, my room keys were deactivated. The next morning we had someone at the door again asking who I was and how long my stay was going to be. I ended up just leaving instead of staying the additional night that I had already paid for because I was no longer comfortable with having my children there. I will never be returning.
