Island Park Lodge

We’ve stayed here before but don’t plan to stay again. We were on the first floor and the people above us were noisy just simply walking around. In one of our rooms the air conditioning did not work properly, making it very hot at night. In the other room, we found a live mouse and the hole it accessed the room with. When both items were brought to the attention of the front desk they merely thanked us for the information. Not quite the customer experiencing we were hoping for. There are plenty of ways for our family to stay in Island Park each summer. This will not be our choice next year.

The location was convenient for Yellowstone, but the stay wasn't great. The walls between rooms are quite thin (crying baby at 3AM) and the room was really small. There was confusion with our check-in, in fairness due to errors by the front desk and me. There is some sort of offroad rally area on the road beyond the lodge, so there was a lot of loud ATV traffic. Also note that there is no elevator -- request a ground floor room if needed. Otherwise it's an exterior staircase to the 2nd floor.

I'm glad I was able to book this lodge almost last minute w/ a reasonable price. Good thing I didn't consider some negative reviews when I was deciding to change my previous booked place ( due to its distance ) to this. First, it's close to the West Yellowstone entrance ( about 22 mins away) Second, the room is so cute, clean, almost complete w/ stuff you might need such as microwave, fridge & essentials. The things to know though are; it's not spacious ( can't really open wide my luggage) and the wall is so thin that i can hear the loud sneeze from next room when it's quiet time. But didn't really mind those, not big deal for me. There's some dining options around, they're really good but a bit expensive, the gas station is just across the street & the place is so easy to find. Will recommend this lodge to friends & family.
