AMAZING!, a Beautiful resort with everything you need! We stayed in the Hokupa‘a which included the Lanai, best breakfast bites where you could enjoy looking out to the beach every morning, the view from our room was amazing, the best pools my family really enjoyed and of course the beautiful, warm beach right in front of the resort, the staff was the best, always checking in on us by the pool or at the Lanai. There were so many restaurants choices and the nicest shopping mall The Whaler, we had fun shopping. We had an amazing time! What a vacation.
We will definitely be back next summer with more family!

First time in Hawaii/Maui and property far exceeded expectations. We researched several and were glad we chose the Westin. Beautiful resort situated in the heart of Kaanapali with easy access to all of West Maui. Great for kids and would definitely stay again.

Great location and the newly updated/renovated tower is beautiful however the old tower is super run down.
The front desk staff is nice but the cabana team was not friendly at all. I overheard them laughing at the guests (including myself) that we spend so much money on all these pool toys. Super unprofessional and made me feel terrible.
Cabana folks messed up my reservation for the (forget the name) cabana with the big tv that I reserved once we arrived for the day before we were leaving (no other availability). Come to find, the guy never made the reservation and they gave it away. My family was super bummed and looking forward to that.
This is what really irked me…upon check in they tell us they’re over booked (don’t think that’s my problem but OK). They say the room we booked, Ocean View double room is fully occupied but they have a suite in the new tower available but for an additional 600 per night. Fine, whatever, we haven’t been on vacation since prior to Covid so we upgrade but (and I SPECIFICALLY asked about this) only under the condition that we don’t have to move rooms in the middle of the week like they made us do on our lazy trip. They confirm we can stay all week…you guessed it, they gave our suite away and made us move (mid week) back to the old tower in a double room.
But wait, that’s not all :) , gets even more fun…the room we get downgraded into has a broken mattress, tiny beds, and plumbing issues. Manager was 0 help.

Good for families with younger kids since they have kiddie pool and slides.

The location was amazing! Beautiful pools and beach access. Outside area was in great condition. The main issue we had was with the quality of the rooms and the loudness outside our room. The pictures online are not accurate for all rooms. Our room was in the old tower and the rooms were very old-felt like a room from the 80’s. Fortunately the beds were comfortable and shower was great. Bathrooms very tight. The rooms were not worth the price but you pay for location and property. We had little kids running up and down the hallways playing ball and slamming doors many mornings which was a little surprising and quite loud. They get away with these older rooms due to the beautiful grounds and location but these other rooms also need an update and pictures should better reflect what they actually look like.

Great location, grounds. The only negative is they only allow adults in the outside Spa/ disappointing for our grandkids and us, we like to stay close to them when we vacation.

The good: hotel was perfectly located in the center of Ka’anapali, right on the beach, and next door to Whalers Village with many restaurant options nearby. Staff we encountered at hotel, restaurant, and spa were very friendly and nice. The massage at beach cabana was excellent. The pools for kids looked like a lot of fun for little ones but we didn’t use it.
The bad: it’s an older property and the rooms shows. We had an ocean view king and it was pretty small for two people, if the sofa bed was open I’d imagine you’d be on top of each other. The closet and bathroom were tiny, and no fan in the bathroom, so smelled a bit moldy. We were there in mid February, not the height of summer or holidays, but the whole place felt very packed and crowded. Elevators and restaurants were always full and the whole place was pretty noisy with music blasting from what seemed like different locations competing. In the evenings when we sat on the balcony (4th floor facing pool and ocean), all we hear were competing music and people, not at all peaceful or relaxing. So we didn’t sit on the balcony anymore.
Overall I don’t think the hotel is a good value. Maybe if you are a family with young children who might enjoy the water slide pool and don’t mind being packed in…

Beautiful property with beach front and different pools for kids and adults, different feel in each pool section. Several poolside bars with screens.
Felt a little nickle and dime'd, resort fee, parking fee, if you want beachside there is a chair fee, an umbrella fee..just build it in to the cost.
