Location to Hilo Bay was great! Definitely a property for large families and large groups so the pool was very crowded and very noisy.

There was a certain peacefulness about this place. The room and the hotel had a beautiful “zen” feeling about it. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family who want to visit Hilo in the future.

My new hotel of choice. Staff friendly, helpful - treat and greet you as family. Quiet with the few planes from nearby airport. Views beautiful. Numerous food options nearby. Live entertainment and activities most days. Whether a single traveler, couple, family- something for everyone. Limitless cold water, hot coffee, water, tea 24 hrs. Free convenient parking. Convenient location to travel and view rest of island

Excellent front desk, service, nice, clean and well appointed room, lovely grounds with huge Koi, pond and garden, and a very nice pool courtyard. There is a park along the water just across the street where it is nice to take a walk and families have picnics in the evening. The restaurant on the property has decent food and nice service. The motel offers many free extras and has a focus on kindness towards people and the environment.

I COULD NOT SLEEP! This place is soooooo loud. I've stayed at so many places over many years and this is by far the loudest. You can hear everything. Everything, cars running, cars moving, doors opening and closing, neighbors coughing, neighbors walking, glasses setting down, toilets flushing, talking voices, crying voices, cleaning throats, yawning, tables and chairs moving. The next morning we still heard it all AND it was the hotel staff YELLING conversations with each other in a foreign language. FOR HOURS. My family is exhausted with awful head aches this morning.

The front desk staff were absolutely lovely - so helpful & friendly. We used the free to borrow paddle boards one afternoon which was a lot of fun, as was the evening live music. The room & hotel overall was clean. Unfortunately the walls are super thin so we could hear everything going on in the room next door, including snoring most of the night & the family getting ready to go at 6am.

I love the original touches, MCM furniture and decor. The music in the lobby was so loud that neither me or the lovely woman at the front desk could hear each other. We were on the pool side and while we could hear kids playing, it was very quiet after the pool closed. I account booked the wrong dates through Expedia and the hotel was able to adjust it at no cost as well as add another night. Although it’s not fancy, it is very comfortable, does good work with the profits and everyone we encountered was very kind. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great little boutique motel. Checked in here after checking in nearby at a different hotel and deciding there was no way I could stay. You can tell their lobby and rooms have been professionally designed. The staff make you feel at home, away from home. It was nice to have water, coffee and tea. Live music in the lobby was a wonderful perk. Would come back and recommend to friends and family.

This property exceeded our expectations. We are a family of four (stayed in a triple) and never felt crowded because of the beautiful grounds throughout the property and the variety of common area seating options. The paddleboards and bicycles were just amazing bonuses. But the best part of the property is the staff. Helpful, accommodating, and highly personable. We felt like we were their only guests throughout our visit because of the care and attention we received. We are looking forward to visiting other SCP properties because this visit was incredible.
