A nice clean bungalow with good air conditioning and comfortable bed. I was most impressed with no bed bugs!! The kitchen is adequate with a gas burning stove top, rice maker, toaster and small coffee maker. The amenities are sufficient including iron and board if needed. There are plenty of dishes, pans and small pots. You may want to bring a larger cooking pot. The table for eating is very small but there is a bar with stools if you have kids. There’s a large refrigerator. The nice walk to a private beach is very cool! I highly recommend this place!

Simply and directly a no fuss place. We had a beautiful beach nearby and easy driving access to Hilo and beyond. For a family of four with teenagers we made the most of it. Loved the birds and peaceful setting.

Where do I start…I read about the Hilo area and most books, reviews and travel columns stated that Hilo wasn’t a place for an extended stay. I kept researching and found Aarons, so I went with it. My gut told me this area and place would be perfect. Well let me tell y’all…this area is a true diamond in the rough!!! No one talks about this area and they should be. From the manager of Aaron’s to the quiet little road the beach house is located on, to the AMAZING lava rock surrounded beach a small walk down the street, our trip was absolutely perfect. Every morning we woke up to sweet doves cooing and little birds singing. The rainforest sounds are so soothing. We’d walk out to the beach at the end of the street to explore different tidal pools as the tides changed daily. There’s several perfect beaches in walking distance from the house. A local grocer is about 5 minutes up the road. We enjoyed driving through the industrial area of Hilo and seeing the port. Being from Louisiana it was cool to see Hilo’s refineries. The beach house itself was a perfect size. They have 2 rooms in the main house and a room that you get into separately if you have older children or friends traveling with you. It’s well stocked and like I said before, the manager is so friendly and helpful. If you choose Aaron’s, you won’t be disappointed.

Eric the manager was great. It's nice to park by the front door rather than have to walk a great distance like in hotels. Best of all, a secluded white sand beach is a 3 minute walk away, with safe swimming ponds for small kids. White sand (compared to lava rock) beaches are so rare on the Big Island.
