Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Destin

This hotel sits inland beyond a major hwy (US-98). Busy traffic so if you intend to walk anywhere please be careful especially with minor children. Whatever you do,please don't book the Oceanview or partial gulf option. It misleading and you will be highly upset. It's not worth the cost.

Had a great stay here in Destin. Hotel is located right across the street from Henderson beach state park entrance. It is right in the middle of all kinds of family attractions and restaurants. Daquan and the overnight manager were extremely accommodating. Breakfast was great and the hotel is beautiful. I really loved how it is isn’t a huge hotel, it made it feel way more personable and homey. Would definitely stay here again!

Disappointed in our stay. Hotel initially assigned us a different room than what we had booked but the front desk staff readily fixed the situation. We went during non-peak season but still encountered loud noises, music, and partying in the evening to night. The breakfast was okay, not good or great. The breakfast area was overrun with kids, many unsupervised and the waffle station and surrounding area became a mess on multiple days of our visit. One staff member was eventually assigned to be in the breakfast area for supervision though this was on the last day of our stay.

We loved the hotel, excellent customer service, very clean, loved the pool area, my kids had a great time. I would totally stay at this hotel again.

I called the morning of my check in to see if we could check in early because we hoped to get our room so we can allow our 9-month-old to rest a bit from our travels from our morning, was told, " we will see when you get here." Understandable I thought. We arrived about 2 hours prior to the check in time and the front desk receptionist stated that the room was still not available around 1pm. They weren't full she said but the room was just not available. At this point, my husband and I and our 9-month-old baby waited around the front desk area. During this time, I kept seeing other families walk in, being checked in, and handed their room keys, upon their arrival. I was confused as to how their room was available the moment they got there and and ours was not. At 3:59pm, I went over again at this point I’m frustrated because it feels as though we are just being neglected and ignored as guest, receptionist stated "oh my god, I thought I gave you the keys when we first spoke." Keep in mind we are waiting in the front desk area for over 2 hours. If I had been given my room key, why would I be in the lobby with a baby and not in my room, I thought. Attention to detail was missed at this point. Just felt as though our needs were less important than others. Felt very undervalued as a guest at this location.

The stay was better than i expected. Clean rooms. Beds comfortable, Indoor pool was great for my kids and breakfast was good. Great location. Ive stayed at alot on hotels in Destin , however, I'll be coming back to this one for sure.

The room we were supposed to stay in had been smoked in, so my family and I were unable to check in on time. Another room was given to us, but the wait was a major inconvenience. The breakfast was not at all as described on the website, and the spacing of the room we was given was super small. I expected more for the price! The customer service was good however

Not sure why this place has a bad rating, it was excellent. For the price you pay, they easily beat out anything close by. Henderson State Park is right across the street with a Walmart next door if you need to get some last minute supplies for the beach trip. Perfect for a little family vacation. If you are looking for something more Destin-like luxury, look else where, but if you are looking for the best bang for your buck, this is the place.
