After paying close to $500 for 2 rooms for one night, when we returned the sand sleds, the staff would not let my child use the restroom.

Our family of four, spent one night in the airstream trailer. It was an adventure! It was a little tight but it was some good family bonding. All the staff was very polite and easy to deal with. And everything was very clean. I would recommend staying there

The property is right in front of the Great Sand Dunes park, which is the reason we choose the hotel. Overall, I was satisfied with the hotel(since I didn’t expect anything except the location), but when the time before we checked out, the hotel staff opened our room and cleaned our room before checking out. This was very embarrassing, since we lost some stuffs we left the room. We brought almost of our luggage with us at the car, but we kept some kids food at the fridge, but the foods disappeared. I asked about that, but the staff member said they just through away the foods, but some of them we didn’t open at all.. I was very disappointed that part, what if I left some important thing in the room before checking out and just leaving a bit to see the great sand dunes? I might lose my important stuffs….

The campers that you see in the photos and descriptions do exist. If you get lucky enough to stay in one of those then you probably paid the right price. However, If they point you to the “silver rv” while slightly cackling, you have just been swindled. Instead of wonderful views from the deck of the sunset over the dunes…you will have great views of the only two trees on the property and a beautiful above ground septic tank blocking any views you could have had. Should you want to make anything for dinner - maybe bring a camping cooking set. Also, bring camping lights, as half the lights in the camper are not functioning. If you happened to get some sweet rain, rest assured it will come through the top hatch of your RV since it’s broken and won’t shut…probably why the floor is sticky. Oh last thing to note, you can re-enact the movie elf where Will Ferrell attempts to bath in an elf sized shower. Hazard warning: if you take children or dogs - there are tons of cacti surround the deck of the RV (all other RVs don’t have this issue). Further, there are some very nice places where your children could get electrocuted because there are tons of “hot” and “cold” exposed wires coming out of the walls. Cost charged - $291 Cost should be - $41 I’d recommend leaving if you are pointed to this RV and saving $ - going to Alamosa and picking up a hotel for $109 or camping for a small fee are better options.

Not a ton of options near the NP, but this was nice. Throwback to family road trips from childhood, tremendous view of both dunes and sunset

Best (and only) lodge so close to Great Sand Dunes but despite having a captive audience, they go the extra mile with bbqs on the patios, dog and family friendly, and breakfast included in the price.
