Second time to the Grand but no Expedia VIP Access ‘experience’ this time. Simply disgusting stay and a shame that the Vidovich Winery family and Bono Hotel Mgmt. have lost their passion and allowed this gem to deteriorate so far. Dirty floors/rugs, stained seating surfaces and furniture, disconcerting brown smears on bed frames, greasy glassware and a strong odor of disinfectant. Itchy/creepy sleep and by morning we both were experiencing stomach ‘distress’. Front Desk confirmed it was a ‘pet’ room. Zero outreach from Hotel Manager, 8 hour wait to move and no comp for hotel’s error. Couch & bedding were cleaner but…broken A/C, heat, fireplace (2 for 2), telephone and hairdryer. Filthy windows/screens, no bathroom soap dispenser and no Kleenex for 4 days! Butts on pathways, abandoned clothing poolside, non-working gates and unlit areas and dark stairways to rooms. Scary elevator with max person limit. Breakfast of a communal yogurt bowl, cut fruit, toast and 'dinner’ rolls. Promised Happy Hour 'top shelf liquors’, 'California’s boutique wineries’ and ‘hors d'oeuvres’ is choice between 'beer, red or white...with chips'. Zero on-site management and every other position is clearly understaffed. The staff is not empowered to do anything constructive other than to say ‘I’m sorry’ and make up little falsehoods to cover for hotel problems. Hummingbirds used entertain poolside…over silent fountain a Raven now perches…we agree ’nevermore’.

Stayed a night with family of 3 (toddler included), got a 2 bed with jet tub, however, the tub had some small scrapes of paint/coating. Tried to clean the tub before using but the tub coating started to flake off when rubbing with towel. Didn't feel safe to use. Other than is, the overall all experience was good, hotel was clean, quiet and welcoming. Room was clean with no foul smell. Our room has a refrigerator and coffee machine but no microwave. I feel the parking lot could use some light.

The Grand Hotel was a pleasant surprise. I thought the rooms were older but the fact that it was clean the staff was courteous and the breakfast was a little basic overall I would recommend the hotel to friends and family. I would gladly enjoy staying there again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Grande Hotel! Mona at the front desk was so kind and very personable. The free breakfast is GREAT! Christian and the other staff were also very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast includes a waffle maker, pastries, eggs and sausage, fruit and yogurt bar, cereal and oatmeal station, coffee station, and juice station. All in all a good place to touchdown with your family. Close proximity to the freeways and a short distance to Downtown San Jose, Mountain View, and Palo Alto.

We made a reservation for their villa. It was a comfortable stay for the family. Very close and tranquil. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The only thing that's missing from the bathtub is the water stopper. The kids always love taking a bathtub, but not a big deal. We will definitely come back.

Most hotels are small but this one is spacious. The only two things that we didn't like was the squeaky beds, luckily it didn't wake our kids when we had to get up to use the bathroom. The toilet pump doesn't work too well.

Really nice, convenient and close to family. It was my first time in California and glad my family said to stay here. Safe and quiet. Rooms were really nice. The only weird thing I found was the lack of wash cloths in the hotel room. I had to ask for them. Maybe it’s a California thing?

This is a very nice and affordable hotel. The breakfast was good. The happy hour from 5-6 was a nice touch. Did not get to enjoy the pool but it looked very nice. Cons: the fan in the room is very loud and the carpets turned my childs feet black because she likes to go barefoot. We stayed in room 429. I would stay here again.
