Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA

The hotel was very clean, the rooms were spacious and the staff were amazing. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel to all my friends and family, as long as you don’t have a car. The valet parking was too expensive, there’s no street parking so you would most likely have to valet.

Two of their front desks were rude and needs customer service training. We were racially profiled and treated us unfairly. The concierge, security and housekeepers were all great, helpful and always greeted us with a smile. There were two instances when my husband was not allowed to stay in the lobby early in the morning (4 or 5 am). Front desk Ronald deliberately told my husband that loud people aren't allowed in the lobby. the next early morning, he was again allowed to stay in the lobby in spite the fact that he said he is a guest. Ronald explained that they don't want homeless people staying in the lobby. It's already an insult but I decided to let it pass as we are trying to enjoy the vacation. But on the last day, at 4am I phoned them and requested for a scale but I was told there is none. So my family and I went to the lobby and waited for our car. I overhead Ronald telling another staff in Tagalog , "may nanghihingi ng timbangan, anong akala nila dito palengke?" translates to "someone is requesting for a scale, what do they think of this hotel, a public market? I felt insulted so I went to the him and told him that it's included in the list. He was so surprised and made so many excuses. My family was so upset but instead of apologizing, they were confrontational and blaming us. Instead of de escalating the situation they have escalated it. I hope this can reach the management for further action.

The staff was wonderful. The hotel looks brand new. It is a few steps from the SF MoMA and Yerbabuena Center. We were able to walk to the pier and felt very safe. It was a great place to stay for all of my family. We were a family group of 9 and it was great for all ages. I would stay again next time I visit San Francisco!

Really impressed. I thought I “cheaped out” booking this hotel (relative to other hotels and brands we stay at) because this was just a quick 4 day family trip for sight seeing. But when we got there, it’s definitely a nice, quality hotel that’s can be on par with the Hotel 1000 in Seattle (where we stayed earlier in the year). Nice lobby and waiting areas, professional staff (who were nice enough to point me towards self parking options that saved us $180 , and the rooms were clean, updated. I think the beds and pillows weren’t that comfortable (too plush) but that’s if we’re knit picking. Also, good location to walk 1 block to public transport.

This is the best hotel in San Francisco! No, I’m not kidding. It’s best to be there to understand the resin for my review. They gave me the quiet room I requested before my arrival, and it was the best room ever. Indeed, the staff are fantastic and friendly, but the security is extremely tight. No one can enter the building without a purpose, and one must have the badge even to use the toilet in the reception. Once, I forgot my room key while going to the gym. I went to the reception, but the lady refused to give me another one. The security guard came to me on my floor and helped me in after he verified my passport. Before then, I asked the cleaning lady to help me open my room door, and one needs to see how she freaked out as if I’d asked her to do the unthinkable. She refused blatantly, prompting me to go to the reception. In addition, the hotel is well-situated and surrounded by other hotels. One cannot be wrong. Lots of restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. I highly recommend it, and I will be back soon.

We could not make our stay due to unforeseen circumstances arising with our 12 month old child. I called them to see if they can waive the fees as this was out of our control. I received no sympathy and the manager was very robotic and stated “policy.” I know they have discretion yet she had no interest in using it.

I would stay again and recommend my friends and family.

The hotel is nice and it’s definitely in a safer location with parking. However for the price you are paying, it could be better. Either the AC in our room didn’t work, or it just wasn’t very powerful as our room was incredibly hot, I had to request a box fan to make it slightly comfortable, the bathroom fan didn’t work either and there was hair in the shower upon arrival, the beds are not comfortable and our tv hardly worked which was frustrating with traveling little ones.

Great hotel! Even the standard room is excellent and has a beautiful view, I traveled with my family and would stay there again.
