Awesome beachfront view, walkable to nearby shops and restaurants, close to the pier, onsite restaurant by the beach, nice pool area, friendly staff. Good for families.

This was a great place for me and my family. The only thing I didn’t like was the limited parking. Unless you are willing to pay $30/day for valet.

The staff was lovely. Fernando in the Restaurant was exceptional. Very nice property. Few issues I would like to mention in hopes they can update. The window in tbe bathroom allows all the hall light in because it has a glass door, the front door is also glass. Extremely hard to sleep since was as if the lights were still on in the room. The pillows were really low in filling. Three pillows stacked still didn’t give you support. My husband three days later is still complaining his neck hurts. The view is amazing, the sunsets were to die for. The property is showing huge signs of salt water decay. All metal is rusted everywhere. But the park and neighborhood were so great to watch kids playing and laughing off the terrace. The food in the restaurant was great. They need black out curtains.

the staff was amazing, after a couple days they felt like friends, no phony etiquette all heartfelt and legitimate. All the bar/restaurant staff end maintenance folks were also amazing. While staying for a wedding, my mothers house burned down so we had some challenges but the hotel was a safe bastion. I would strop in next time just toi say "hi" even if I am staying with family. - Extra kudos to the front desk!!

Very disappointing stay. We were greeted by the manager beating around the bush that our room that we booked was not available. They blamed Expedia for selling rooms that weren’t available. Plausible, however we spoke with another couple that booked that same day direct with the hotel and they were given a full ocean view room, the same room type we had booked. The manager gave us a tour of the partial ocean view room (we were familiar with the exact room because our children were in that room for our wedding). He stated when we walked in “the heat seems to be working, let me know if it stops working” and “oh good the tv seems to be working” “let me try the phone, oh good it works”. I also noticed throughout our stay the hotel is in serious need of repairs. Our room also had both smoke detectors removed. The room did have a sprinkler system. Im not sure what the requirements are in California for smoke detectors. Overall super disappointing. The two bright spots were the wonderful massage at the spa & Cecilia at the sunset reception on the roof each night, she’s a ray of sunshine. I just wish we could have enjoyed the sunset on our own balcony from our full ocean view room. We could not see the sunset from our partial ocean view room.

after traveling 10hrs We missed a call at 1:16 to be exact no voicemail like they said they did. Upon our arrival they communicate that the hotels AC stopped running and there was no options since it was already paid. They threw in a couple drink vouchers and breakfast. Later on I asked one of the workers “the ac stopped working today? “she said “since yesterday”. I understand it is out of their control but i think we could’ve been made aware the day prior .also the valet parking attendant was very rude we gave him our ticket for him to bring our car around and he helped 3 other families that were after us .

We were guests for 5 nights in early July. As a side note, we also stayed at Pier South around the same time in 2021. Our sons family also accompanied us - 2 adults and 3 children. This stay was a disappointment for the following reasons. 1. The spa/ pool area is very run down; discolored spa bottom, safety cones stored in the corner of the spa area. Very sloppy appearance. 2. No beach equipment. We called before we arrived and asked if the hotel had beach chairs and umbrellas. They said yes we have plenty. Turns out, there were 2 raggedy umbrellas and 1 beach chair that would not open. 4. Short supply of pool towels. 3. Safety issue. The most egregious condition was the broken security gate leading to the beach from the pool. It was propped open at times and when closed could not be locked. Strangers had free access to the pool with guests valuables on the lounge chairs and children were trying to run out to the beach unsupervised. Our family could not relax contending with 3 children, 2 year olds and 5. 4. The room was nice enough but no coffee or cups. We needed to get some at the front desk. Also, the vibration from the roof AC was so loud that we could not sit on the sofa and we were not on the top floor. 5. We understood rooms are only cleaned every 3 days. We requested that and the front desk staff added us to the list. No staff cleaned the room during our stay. We paid for a resort, not a 3 star hotel. Very overpriced for the experience.

I stayed in this hotel for initially 6 nights but I cut it short to 4… but to begin we are a military family stationed in San Diego so we know the area etc unfortunately giant desert centipedes got into our house and we had to leave with our baby for a week for pest control to do it’s thing! The hotel is right next to the beach which is awesome and also with a crawling baby the room size is nice we booked a suite I don’t know if there are different sized rooms available. Unfortunately that’s all theres positive to say about this “resort”. When we got into our room we realized how dirty some furniture was and also the walls, the couch smelled so bad we didn’t even wanna sit on it! When we finally got the crib for our baby we didn’t even wanna touch it it was so dirty! The balcony’s are super nice but the chairs?! As a resort you should offer something nice and comfortable. The carpet is stained, the fridge doesn’t fit in the dresser so the door is always open, the floor is lifting from potential water damage?, there was a stain on the bedroom wall which I can only hope was just dirt and not mold, the hotel trash area was right underneath my balcony which made things smelly and loud and there was also a huge construction side right next to my balcony which I understand is not your fault at all but I heads up would have been nice! I chose this hotel because it calls itself a resort I needed a peaceful place so my baby is safe and can sleep instead **full review on google

A little disappointing glass on balcony dirt y . Shower and sink clogged ankle deep in used clamy water while showering, brushed teeth and sink was full not draining. Back door scrapped to get out to balcony hard to open . Worst of all used coffee pod In coffee maker . Sound of running water never stopped. Rusty warped access ceiling probably where water is . Thank goodness everything else was so great!!! Comfortable beds , wonderful dining, beach access, kids loved it .
