Everything went pretty well . Except for the fact that we were woken up at 9 AM with loud drilling sounds that woke my children and myself up when alls what we wanted to do was sleep after having a long trip . It was on and off for about 45 minutes .

Upon entry, employee is nice, patient and helpful.
Area is clean and well maintained.
We stayed at the first floor and what i did notice is that walls are VERY thin. Like hearing someone yawn thin. Kind off uncomfortable because we had family matter discussion then you find that out. Also, very noisy around 8pm not recommending for anyone who checked in to have a good early sleep and rest and travelling with infant. I don't think i will come back to this location it's also far from any eatery if you have something else in mind aside from their bistro. Although, we did tried the 14$ pepperoni pizza and the 13$ dollar meatballs. It was decent. Overall, this is good place if you just doing a quick pit stop.

This hotel booking was arranged as a daddy-daughter weekend getaway gift. My transportation was arranged to and from the airport, but the staff at this hotel provided bad information about transportation to and from Legoland. I was told the guests of this hotel use Lyft. However, Lyft doesn't offer carseats or booster seats. I was later told that some of the Lyft drivers will take the kids anyway; it's about a mile and a half, I think, to the theme park.
If you are going to Carlsbad for Legoland, I recommend another hotel closer or within the park, and I recommend you rent a car to get around unless you have older kids who don't require safety seats.
I also don't like the attitude the staff or the management took about this bad information because my daughter is five and was expecting to get to the park as soon as we woke up on Saturday morning, but that didn't happen, and their attitude was, "Oh well, it's not our problem," when we relied on the information they provided at the time the room was booked.
I don't recommend this hotel because of their lack of consideration and failure to recognize any accountability for bad information about transportation. They said the suggested Lyft when they knew their statement that "guests use Lyft" implies that this service is available.

The hotel was clean and the staff was great, but the sound proofing at the hotel was practically non-existent. I could hear everything in the halls, the TV from my neighbors room sounded like it was in my room, and the young children above me sounded like they were going to come through my ceiling. But the worst was waking up in a panic because they decided to trim the palm trees with a chainsaw at 8:30 am on Friday outside of my room and it sounded like someone was in my room with a chainsaw. It would have been nice to have had a heads up on that one. I don’t think I would stay here again just because if the lack of sound proofing, even with a noise machine on.

We switched over to the Marriot late at night after our not so great check in experience at La Quinta Carlsbad.
The Marriot felt much safer and the room was clean.
However for the $200 per night price tag it was a bit noisy and the bathroom/vanity layout was awkward.. Every time while I was doing my makeup and my husband wanted to get in or out of the bathroom I had to move out of the way or risk getting slammed by the heavy door. This is definitely a design flaw.
I wouldn’t have called the experience peaceful because it had more of a dorm feel. We could hear people and children talking and walking about late at night and in the early morning. The walls and ceiling felt thin.
On a scale of 1 to 5 I give it a 3.5. Not horrible, not great just right in the middle.

Very clean. The parking spaces are very narrow making it hard to get things out of the sides. We ordered food and they didn’t have room service not sure if that’s what it’s called (where they bring you the food) which was a bummer after a long tiring day at sea world with little kids. So one of us has to go get it which on a vacation we want to be lazy and chill. That was surprising as I’ve never came across a hotel that didn’t bring you the food you ordered. But good staff and very clean we will be back to visit.

Top notch customer service, just what you'd expect from Marriott!!! We were in San Diego for the weekend celebrating my daughter's 6th birthday and I could not had wished for a better stay. My daughter loves staying in hotels whenever we travel (as opposed to staying with family or friends) and booking this suite almost last minute made her birthday weekend that much more memorable. Took the opportunity to get her started on swimming lessons, and the heated pool and available pool noodles made it easy to stay for a prolonged period of time and have her take her first solo steps err...kicks? Daniel at the bar/restaurant was super helpful and on point with a custom drink I requested (hot chocolate with whisky and baileys, nothing fancy, but soooo good) and I can't remember the trio at the front desk that assisted us on check out (Im so sorry!!) but they were super kind to my daughter and got her started to a memorable birth day with their birthday wishes. Thank you guys!!! You all rock!!!

We had a great time! Hotel was really close to Legoland which was the reason for our trip. The kids loved the poll and fire pit at the hotel.
If we are ever in the SD/Carlsbad are we would stay here again!

The newly-renovated hotel is fine, unless you like your knees and don't have toddlers. The bed is on a platform that hits just below your knees and hurts. And my 3yo tripped and hit his head really badly. The issue is that the platform protrudes from the mattress. Terrible design. And when i told the front desk staff and even showed them a pic of my son's massive, swollen bruise on his forehand, they didn't offer to make a report. They said they'd tell their boss. I wasn't impressed with their kindness or attentiveness.
