The Oaks Hotel & Suites, Ascend Hotel Collection

We decided to stay at this hotel because of the high ratings & especially because it is a pet friendly hotel. The check in was good, the room was nice and didn’t smell at all. Unfortunately a woman brought her two unfriendly dogs to the hotel also, & when my toddler, my small 4 lb chihuahua, & myself were passing to go to our room, one of her dogs tried to attack my dog. This is unacceptable but not the hotel’s fault, but we unfortunately were right across from her and her bad dogs, and had to hear that one mean one bark a lot. We should’ve asked to be moved. The shower and bathroom were nice BUT the shower’s water pressure was almost unbearable & the shower head sprayed all over inside the shower and sort of flooded outside the shower into the floor, regardless of us using the shower curtain and towel on the floor. Also, my husband and toddler were walking around barefoot in the carpet and their feet turned black, really gross! Though the room “looked” clean, the carpet wasn’t. The breakfast was pretty good but the seating wasn’t adequate for everyone eating in the hotel and we almost had to eat inside our room, which is really inconvenient and should be addressed to the management. The hotel itself was nice but things do need to be addressed.

Great family owned and operated place

It felt like a family owned property, not the best trained staff but everyone was willing to help.

The heater was unbearably loud all night and the room was too cold with the heater off. The pullout couch bed had no sheets. Beds did not have enough blankets to be warm. Two extra comforters were in the closet and we gave those to the kids and my husband and I were cold all night.

Feels more like a truck stop than a family hotel. Breakfast was good

Good for family

The stay was for only one night. It was a pit-stop on the way from visiting family in Carmel. We did some wine tasting at Pianetta Winery on 13th in Paso Robles. I recommend Pianetta Winery to anyone who love Reds 🍷

Stayed here recently along with a couple of family members. I would absolutely stay again. The staff at the hotel were absolutely amazing. They have a great bar area to hang out at after a day of wine tasting. The bar also has an excellent selection of options. The bartender was wonderful. They also have a wonderful breakfast in the mornings the offerings were much better than I have seen at other hotels. The location is convenient for wine tasting in the Paso Robles area. The hotel is clean and beds were comfortable. Will be staying here again for future wine trips.

Great freshly made breakfast (I love that they don’t use disposables), wonderful gym, kids friendly, very recommended!

It was only a one night stay but easy check in, very nice room and having a breakfast was cool especially for the kids.
