Shasta Inn

Great location, no frills hotel/motel. We stayed with family only for a short night as part of a longer road trip. Would stay again

Roomy, functional, and comfortable for family of four. Bathroom had a slight unpleasant smell (from sewer?) but otherwise everything was good. There are few restaurants in walking distance and Shasta downtown is a short ride away. No pool/hot tub and decor is mountain style. They also offered a complementary packed breakfast bag (basic) which was much appreciated. So overall pretty good.

The Shasta Inn is snuggled into a large group of pine trees which fits in with its Alpine city. The rooms are very nice, but could use better lighting (especially for older people who struggle to see in dim light). The proprietors were extremely nice, and very helpful to our family when we had a bit of an emergency. My only complaint was when I was checking our reservation made a few months before our arrival, I was told we didn't have a reservation. Finally, when I was able to provide our confirmation #, the person I spoke with finally located it.

Great room and environment but insulation is so bad that a family above us sounded like a full blown party. I was half tempted to call police good thing I hadn’t since it was just a family. Needless to say we didn’t sleep well

Property was extremely well kept and clean beyond belief. Two stories so either you are upstairs or on the ground floor. The management was extremely friendly and live right next door. I believe their family all help operate (clean, maintenance, repair, etc) the property. They have a restaurant and bar as well which we didn't go to but it looked nice (didn't check out the menu). Bathroom has a sink inside and toilet all newer and the beds were really comfortable. Linens fresh and a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, AC unit which kept the room cool and nice. Will definitely stay at again should I pass through the area.

Lots of fresh air. Windows are real working sash ones with screens. There was a working A/C-heater unit for the room. . There was a non working heater unit in the bathroom, but it wasn’t needed. We liked that there was the option to sit and relax outside your room and there was an open space where you could eat outside or enjoy a game of corn hole together. There was a convenient bar height counter and two stools to enjoy a snack. The fridge and microwave is handy. A large bug got into our room, but you’re surrounded by nature so we took care of it and shrugged it off. We could hear the neighbor’s kids through the walls, but it’s a family friendly place so that was okay, too. They went to bed at a decent hour. We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed there for a night and the stay was enjoyable. Bed was comfy and the room was clean. Queen bed rooms might be a tight for a family to spread out, but it was more than enough for a solo traveler. Hotel has a great outdoor patio and restaurant. Good food and drinks at the restaurant. Complimentary breakfast bag in the morning is a nice touch especially if you are heading out for a hike.
