This is the biggest Best Western I have ever been to and probably the cleanest! They have a full restaurant and bar and I was there for sushi night (it was amazing). What kind of Best Western has sushi night??? The only reason I did not give this five stars is because my room was on the second floor and not one did anybody direct me to wear an elevator nor are there signs showing you how to find one. I had three little kids with me a extra large, 70 pound suitcase, and ice chest, and a bunch of other things I was trying to juggle, and I walked all over the freaking hotel, trying to find a way to my room 236. I finally pushed my stuff all the way back to the lobby and asked the guy where the elevator was… The man who had literally just checked into my room. He pointed out where it was and we found it but guess what? The second floor is actually the 300 rooms. Walked all over the floor, trying to find a way to room 236 and found nothing. So we went back down to the first floor, and I tried asking housekeeping how to find the room, but nobody could understand what I was asking. We finally made it to the bottom of a set of stairs, and I realized I would have all of my stuff up the stairs because the room was up there. Not once did anybody tell me this and sure enough, that was the case. There seem to be construction workers or some sort of maintenance people nearby who offered to help me which I gratefully accepted. I am not sure what I would’ve done without them.

Aside from being disappointed due to pool closures, or being charged separately for the breakfast that I had pre-paid (still waiting for the front desk to call me back), what truly disappointed us was that some employees were blatantly racist. A male waiter refused to acknowledge us after seating us. I had to ask another waiter at the restaurant for service after two other families were served while we waited. She was lovely, albeit a little nervous after noticing what happened. A lady at front desk didn’t even say good morning back to us either. I hate to think it’s also due to racism, but one has to wonder after being mistreated at their restaurant. It felt as if we had to be tolerated but we’re not welcomed. It dimmed my experience a bit, but we made the best of it. Can’t allow a few people to diminish such a wonderful experience. Mount Shasta is simply breathtaking.

Our room was very comfortable for our family of 5. However, the pool - which could have been great - was freezing. So it sat empty while everyone crowded into the hot tub. We also went down the eat the the restaurant and ended up waiting an hour because it was small and very busy. The food was good and it was nice to have a restaurant right in the hotel. There is no breakfast provided but the restaurant does serve breakfast for those that would like to eat there.

The only thing that made our stay comfortable was the mini split heating/ cooling system, which was appreciated. The pool and spa tub were overwhelmed with chemicals so much so that our family’s eyes were burning ALOT and we left within 5 minutes. There were no elevators, and several outlets in the room did not work. Disappointing especially considering the nightly cost to stay here.

I stayed here on a road trip in early spring with my family and if we are ever passing through town again, I would not hesitate to rebook! It's definitely got a rustic vibe but it's part of the charm and there are updates where necessary such as the furniture and bedding. The beds were comfortable, my room was spacious and clean and it's really close to many of the local attractions and restaurants that Mt. Shasta has to offer!

Our stay was great and the kids had the best time. The one downside was our room key/door locked us out. Had to wait at least a half hour in the cold to finally get the door to work. Door/key entries need upgrading. Other than that was so fun! Great place for families.

Room was nice. Tried to have a nice brunch on Christmas eve but we were made to sit in the bar. The service was non existent which made the overall experience a real let down. It’s disappointing when you have all of your family together on a special day like that and you get the “I hate my job” vibe from the server.
