Perfect spot, close to family!

My family stayed here for one night just to get some rest before continuing on our long trip. The gal at the front desk was kind and courteous. My first impression was how beautifully kept the property was on the outside. Our room seemed nice and clean at first and we began to get settled in. Then I noticed that the freezer part of the mini fridge had not been cleaned and some old ice cream was left behind. No problem. I threw it in the trash. About an hour into our stay, I spotted a bug on the wall. Then another, and then more started moving around the walls. I smashed about 5. We got really freaked out thinking they may be bed bugs. They were going to move us to the room next door but we insisted on being further from this infested room and they were accommodating in moving us to the other side of the property. It was late and we were tired so moving all of our things in our pajamas was less than ideal. But the new room was free of bugs and after looking online I realized that the bugs were actually cockroach nymphs. Super gross but not as big of a nightmare as bed bugs would be. We were comfortable enough in the new room to get some sleep. The continental breakfast was slim pickings. There was a pancake maker and few grab and go items. I had a bowl of raisin bran and one of the gallons of milk in the fridge was going sour. Thankfully there was a newer milk jug. Honestly, for the price we paid for one week night ($141) we expected so much more.

This was a terrible experience for us. When we arrived there was a notice on the front check-in desk explaining the high risk of the trafficking of teenage girls in the area. My teenager read this and was subsequently terrified to sleep or go out of the hotel room. We had to send out for takeaway and we had to curtail our stay from two nights to one. The hotel had a number of males lingering around outside the rooms. The area felt decidedly shifty. I would not recommend this for a family stay at all. We didn’t even have the free breakfast, we just got up and left as soon as we could.
