Hotel Lexen - Newhall

Great location based on a stop on our way to LA, cute town with good restaurants walking distance. Would recommend to any friends or family! We really enjoyed the room and hotel!

My first impression when I walked into the lobby was wow it smells clean and the staff was pleasant. I walk into my room and very first thing I find are bed bugs on the bed. I immediately wrapped a live bug in a tissue paper and went downstairs to the front desk. At first he was hesitant and told me that they couldn’t offer me any other room since they were fully booked. Then decided to offer me a different room (next door) only to realize a day later that they had given my room to another family. I felt extremely uncomfortable, wiping the room down doesn’t kill bed bugs. The room I was placed in was dusty. You can see the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, stains on the floor, hair everywhere and the shower walls were not clean. There’s an ice business across my window making noice throughout the morning and day time which made it hard to rest.

Each year we spend about a week at the Lexan to visit our son and his family. It is an excellent facility and has a great staff. We will return next year. The Lexan needs to significantly up scale their breakfast. It's marginal at best. Also, note that the street out front is loud and their is a train right across the street that is loud in the morning.

I’m a picky person when it some to cleanliness and this hotel passed the test for me. Only 10 minutes from six flags. Comfy beds, easy parking, newer hotel. I’m not sure if they offer bigger “family” rooms so I’m not sure I would take my family of 6 but for my short getaway with brother and sister is was perfect! You could hear the train pass by in the early morning but it didn’t bother me much.

I would strongly advise against any traveler to stay here. I have never been so disrespected in my life, and I’ve stayed at 100s of hotels all over the world. The Hotel Guests services Woman ( Liz) has diploma or behavior. Rude is an understatement. Upon check in, Liz was completely unfriendly and cold. My husband and I chose to ignore it, and went to check into our room. We used the cart to bring up our bags. We had a lot as a family of four ( with small children). I came down to return the cart. I went to put it in the lobby. Liz came and rudely reprimanded me “ Uhm the carts go outside!”. She said in a really snarky tone as she marched to push the cart outside. I had finally had it, and could no longer ignore her unnecessary rudeness . I told her she was coming off very rude, especially considering I was a guests in the hotel. She replied “ Thanks for letting me know” in a very sarcastic tone. I told her “ Wow, you don’t even care.” She replied “ I DON’T care!” And marched off like a teenager. I immediately went to find a manager. One of the other hotel staff members put me on the phone with the manager. He told me he was off and would follow up with me next day. He never did!! When I looked at the other horrible reviews this hotel had also about this same staff member, I realize my mistake was not reading all the reviews before staying. Don’t believe me? I invite you to read the other reviews of this place. There are also major safety concerns. Do NOT stay here.

I had to cancel my trip the morning of check-in day due to a death in the family. The staff were very understanding and did not charge me for the first night’s stay even though they were entitled to per the cancellation policy. I really appreciated that and look forward to staying there on my next trip.

What a find! Visiting my kid at college and stayed here - uniquely wonderful! Located in a cute little town full of shopping and food choices! Nice place to stay if you are tired of the chain hotels:)

The area was nice, conveniently located for family activities. Hotel was clean with fragrance of lavender emanating throughout. Breakfast needed some work, but liked the juice and coffee machine available 24hrs. Staff were mostly friendly. Room felt a little tight and beds a little small, but nicely decorated and sheets were clean. Would stay again.
