Hyatt Place Bakersfield

The kids liked the pool. We liked the grocery stores nearby.

Normally I love Hyatt, and the hotel itself was beautiful, but unfortunately the cleanliness was not good. We not only found a man’s ID in the pull out couch, but also several (used) condoms. This was especially concerning given the fact we had our children with us. This leads me to believe that the cleaning jobs between guests isn’t very thorough. I’d upload a photo but I think that breaks the rules.

Clean room, comfortable beds. My kids had a lot of fun in the pool.

This hotel needs serious renovations and better cleaning services. Our room smelled musty, the bedding linens had stains and didn’t smell fresh, the bathroom floor was dirty, the carpet was old and frayed. The tv screen was dirty with fingerprints and a huge scratch on the screen, behind the tv had plaster that was never completed with a huge hole from the wires. The AC was very loud and disrupted our sleep pattern and the shower water pressure was terrible. The overall room was bad and needed a complete renovation. I don’t think this room has been used for a long time. We had a view of the terrible parking lot. Management needs to view this room and keep it from being rented. The only reason I didn’t take time to change the room was because we were using it for sleeping only, while visiting family nearby. The positives are that the front desk staff were nice upon check in. We will probably stay stay at the Hilton’s Home2Suites next time we visit Bakersfield, which will be quite frequent because family just moved to Bakersfield. Home2Suites is a newer hotel and much nicer.

Stayed at the hotel overnight with family. The property was pleasant and conveniently located near all necessary amenities.

My husband and I had a good time. The only thing we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it was the pool. It was small and there were a lot of kids in it. The location is nice. Everything is close by, in a walking distance and restaurants require driving ( short distance though) .

We arrived at the hotel to check in at 330pm and were not able to check into our room and wasn’t given and real explanation as to why the room wasn’t ready yet and they would call text us when it was ready. We waited over 2 hours before we’re able to check in meantime they gave no real answers as to why the wait or any realistic time frame as when we would actually get a room. Meanwhile we are all sweating in the lobby cause there is no ac. I overhear another person say they got an early check in I called the night before to ask for an early check in and they said they don’t to that so I was confused to hear when that guest was able to. Finally they checked us into a room we get our keys go into the elevator and head up, get out of the elevator and the hallways are very warm and hot again no ac on the 4th floor hallways and we go into the room and there other people’s belongings all over the room so we went back downstairs to the front desk and they gave another room but there wasn’t any towels in our room and they only had 2 pool towels available and and we were a family 4. We went back up the elevator to the room and the maid was still in the room cleaning so we had to wait in the hallway until she was done and was sweaty and uncomfortable waiting. The pool area was disgusting the trash can was overflowing and there was wet towels around and the dirty towel bin the trash can was overfilled for both days.

My check in time was between 2-3. I got to the hotel at 4:40 and my room still wasn't ready until after 6pm. There were also other people who were waiting in the lobby who were waiting for hours. Then I was placed on a floor where a baseball league was staying so there were kids running up and down the hall all night. Lastly if you get a room facing the street you will be to hear everything from the street!!

It was a great experience. My grandkids loved the breakfast buffet and the pool.

The parking was really easy. There was a convenient store within walking distance. Good service at the front desk, good hot breakfast (everything was fresh & refilled when emptied), nice seating areas in the lobby. Room was nice size, fit our family of 6. Beds/pillows were comfortable. Mini fridge, no microwave. The only complaint I would have here is the cleaning. Our floor needed to be vacuumed, very dusty light fixtures, there was a stain on the couch (we had to flip the cushion), the bathroom was the worst because it had a smelly foot odor and we were only given 2 bath towels. Our phone didn’t work in our room either. If things were more cleaner, I’d give them an extra star.
