Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Bakersfield, an IHG Hotel

My trip was based on family and friends, and I enjoyed it. I thought that the parking lot was well lit and clean as the entire outside was. Hospitality was very good and the room was clean and welcoming. Did not appreciate that there was not a breakfast for the price you pay unless you pay extra.

Booked a weekend get away for my family, parents, and my brother and his family. We booked this hotel specifically for the indoor pool. First night we arrived it was closed, the next morning it was also closed. We spoke to Malinda the kind front desk clerk, whom had no idea why the pool was closed. She said the pool would be closed all weekend. Everyone was really disappointed. The kids mostly! Malinda right away started making phone calls and trying to find out why the pool was closed and why no one notified her and the staff. She was very helpful. The entire family left for the day to try and make the kids happy and enjoy the day. We came back at about 2pm and Malinda told us the pool was open again. She had made some calls and talked to the person in charge of cleaning the pool. Somehow she managed to have them reopen it. The kids spend whatever time they could there and were very happy. A big thank you to Malinda for going above and beyond to help us. She was very thoughtful and kind!

Old hotel needs a freshen up. Indoor pool but not heated so kids couldn’t use it! Beds comfortable but chairs and carpet in room stained and needs cleaning

My heat in my room did not woek we were freezing. Maintenance had to come pull open the system no luck so my family packed up and left @10pm. Then got charged $300 for smoking when I was outside on camera but they are crooks. Dont stay here ever

I didnt like that there were kids messing with my door and they were loud the whole time i was there.

It was nice but the area was in the middle of construction and hard to find. It was freezing, we had children, and the door side door to get in did not work with the key we were given. Husband had to go all the way around to the front of the hotel (while chdren and I waited outside) and was told to go thru another door. The room was ok but had peeling wall paper and the insulatiin wasn't that gfeat because it was freezing in the room!

Extremely accommodating staff at breakfast. Three kids had a blast in the pool.
