La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham NW Tucson Marana

Pretty average hotel stay. It wasn’t horrible, wasn’t amazing. Just average. Staff was receptive, helpful, & nice. Continental breakfast was good. We had intended on using the pullout bed but when we pulled the cushions off we saw that under the cushions hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. That was a downside, especially since another part of my family stayed at a different hotel and their pullout bed was very clean.

Daily breakfast offered great selection. Replacement of hook on back of bathroom door was great but ugly patch of where it was previously was still visible making job incomplete. Would love bags at ice machine so could pick up ice on arrival and not have to return to ground floor for ice. Ice buckets were useless as no insulation qualities at all. Reservation made by family member who provided credit card information and authorization to charge stay. This was not enough although it guaranteed arrival. They were required to provide card and authorization in person despite already providing identical information online.

Upon arrival we were not greeted. Staff wasn’t very friendly and the first room we had smelled foul. They were quick to get us another room, but the rest of the hotel seemed run down. We had our parents stay here two years ago before the pandemic and it was much more pleasant experience then. We were hoping for the same this time around, but overall it seemed dirty and just disappointing. The young girl who checked us out was probably the only friendly person we encountered. We’ll most likely not let any of our friends and family stay here.

Very roomy for 2.5 adults, 2 children, and Buffy the dog.

The employee service is very friendly and accommodating. This was the second stay in 3 weeks and my family has concluded that this facility is beginning to show the wear and tear of being a popular place to stay. Given the up charge for weekend stays we will probably look for another facility that may newer at a comparable rate.

First room that was given to us had roaches In the bath tub and around the toilet. Second room we were changed to has a roach in the closet, a touch when the sofa bed was pulled out and the top sheet had resent stains. Cleaning crew only changed the under sheet however comforter was re-used with stains. One of the comforter had a white stain and was still a few hours. Unprofessional for hotel to offer rooms to hood knowing they have a roach problem. Other issue I had was that I booked this room 1 month in advance for a higher price. When a family member booked last minute a few hours prior to arriving they paid $200 less than I did with hotels. com. When calling hotels .com for a price match it was decline. I always book with hotels and declining a priced match for a room they are offering for cheaper for last minute reservation! I will never book with them again

Amazing. The cleanest breakfast bar I’ve ever been to. And we are very well traveled. Great place for families with two and four legged children!

We stayed at the Marana La Quinta to be nearby a work function. The hotel was nicely updated and clean and was in a great location. We've stayed at a variety of La Quinta properties over the years and have always been happy with our stay. We took a morning visit down to the pool with our 10 year old and ended up being disappointed. The pool area is the designated smoking area at the hotel. Between the smoking area and the bees that were attracted to the shrubs, the pool visit was brief. Though we enjoyed our stay and the staff was very pleasant, we will not stay at this property again. When booking we didn't realize that the hotel is pet friendly. I've gone back and checked the hotel website and descriptions, and nowhere is it listed that the hotel welcomes pets. We are a family of asthmatics with pet allergies and had allergic reactions being in the room. Even though the room was neat and clean, there is no way to clean a room to be completely free of animal dander. Obviously this is not the hotel's fault, and we don't blame people who travel with their beloved pets. It would be nice if it were mentioned somewhere on the hotel fact sheet. Having never been in that position before with a hotel, we learned a great lesson and will always call ahead and check on the pet policy prior to booking. Booking with Expedia was easy.
