Windmill Suites Surprise, Ascend Hotel Collection

I (Mom) stayed with my 16y/o for 5 days, in town for a baseball tournament. Let me start by saying the room and the lobby were great! Very clean and the room was awesome! We did not use the pool, but it looked really clean and tons of kids playing—looked like fun! However, the hallways need some serious work. Carpet is weird and if they put some work into that it would make a HUGE difference. We also had the unfortunate issue of someone on our floor right by the elevator smoking pot 24/7. Then the elevator closest to our room broke halfway through our trip and was still not working by the time we left. Overall the stay was pretty good. Some of the guests were a little sketchy, but great when in the room and breakfast was good. Definitely used the deadbolt at night (as instructed on the key card sleeve).

We had a nice stay at this property. It was conveniently located near family’s residence. The bed was comfortable, the space was roomy, and the A/C in the room was a little loud but otherwise everything worked out well for what we needed.

Our overall experience was good. It's an excellent value given what you get. * Suite: The space is nice to have for a family of 4. I would have preferred a queen size bed. * Pool: It was clean but there were a few stain spots. * Breakfast: It had a good selection and the quality was above average.

I love this hotel. A lot of parking. When you walk in, the tv & the calming music made me feel at ease. It is always clean. Hotel staff are the best. Always nice & polite. Breakfast, the food is always delicious & the servers are always kind. I have recommended this hotel to several friends & family. They love it too.

The outside of this hotel is very nice driving up. There is a nice mini lake with a fountain and they keep the front of the place well kept until you drive around back. Check in lobby is nice but it stops there (until you get to your room). This place has some sketchy people. There were several cars in the parking lot on the side and back where they would just sit in their cars. For a long time! I would feel relieved when I saw a family here. My teenage son didn’t feel safe for me at all. This place is huge inside with many winding long hallways so as a female with a kid, walking alone felt uneasy. I wouldn’t stay here again. I should’ve spent $80 and stayed at a LaQuinta. The reviews say it’s a nice place (and it probably was back in the day). It gives off apartment vibes and less of a hotel. The gym had a few pieces of old cardio equipment but it was too dark for me to use it. They have a laundry room with old washer and dryer machines. You’ll need quarters. Again their laundry facility looked run down and like an of laundry mat. The rooms though were nice and big. It was equivalent to a small suite. There were two tvs, a mini fridge and microwave that were tucked away in a small kitchen corner. Stay here if you are fine with a nice room and don’t care about the environment. If you are about feeling safe then it’s probably not for you. I stayed one night and left before breakfast. I was bummed cause the reviews boasted of a nice breakfast but I couldn’t stay longer.

Hotel is severely out of date and in need of repair. Elevator smelt like it was on fire. And employees families took over the pool area nightly.

Concerned about cleanliness of sheets. Felt uncomfortable. Pool was not clean enough for our children to be in. We arrived early and wanted to put our bags in the room, but was charged an additional fee, even though the room was ready. Won’t stay here again.

This was a last minute trip, the room was comfortable especially for my two toddlers (this was their first time traveling) staff is very nice & welcoming. There was only one thing that was a little annoying to me and that was a pill of some sort we found by the bed when checking in. It looked like Tylenol but concerning to me if my 2 or 3 year old would have found it first. We asked if we could use a broom to just sweep the floor ourselves, which would have made me feel a whole lot better, but we were told they didn’t have one at the time.

We have 2 special needs children and we stayed for 3 nights and had nothing but a great experience. Every staff member was super nice amd accommodating. We will def be back !
