We came to stay at the Eagles for our family holiday. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children. The staff were amazing, the location perfect and the hotel look beautiful. A few issues we had were: broken tv, the sound was muffled as the tv had a broken speaker and the controller sound function didn’t work so we were unable to turn it up or down. The queen size bed was 2 beds put together and was really uncomfortable and the shower despite looking amazing had next to no pressure so the water dribbled out. Cannot fault the staff as they were amazing and the food was delicious.

We were greeted and checked in efficiently at reception. The room was very spacious (more like an apartment) and the bathrooms was very modern and clean. The room I stayed in was clean and well equipped. It would have been excellent if staying with family or friends as the 2 single beds were in separate rooms with their own doors. The breakfast was lovely and fresh. I would definitely stay there again.

Do not book a family room if you want to hear noisey crowds in the pub opposite until 1am. Hotel is overpriced for a family room, which only has the addition of 2 single beds in a what can only be said, would be the size of a walk-in wardrobe. Also the heating didn't work and the main beds and pillows were old and uncomfortable, left a day early as really not worth spending another night there even though I wouldn't get a refund

This hotel is in a prime location adjacent to the river. On arrival we were dealt with quickly and efficiently. We were escorted to our room on the second floor which to say the least was adequate. For a family room it was quite small and the view through the window was of a stone wall. For the sum of £125 per night we at least expected to see the river. Renovation work was being carried out in the room below us which made matters even worse during the day, driving us out into the rain. The riverside restaurant of the hotel was never open during our four day stay and eating in the bar was never really an option due to the compact nature of the area and associated noise levels. We could not fault the staff however who were pleasant and helpful at all times. We would particularly like to praise the receptionist who appeared capable of carrying out all the duties required of her from bar work to waitress!. Breakfasts were a delight which at least gave us a great start to the day.

The hotel itself is in a great location, beautiful view over looking the river from the garden and restaurant area. Ideal location for travelling by car to lots of local attractions, with bonus of local shops and walks without the need of traveling in the car. The room layout we had was great for a family. Sadly though we would not recommend this hotel. In addition to a bit well needed TLC decoration wise, our biggest concern was how negelcted the cleaning was. The draws in the room where so dusty we could not use them, flooring in the bathroom was dusty, there was considerable mould in the shower. All 3 different tables we sat at for breakfast we saw food on the floor, the tables had not been cleaned, with cleaning also neglected in main areas such as reception, stairways and corridors. Food rating was 1 which was worrying from the start.
