Loved the rooms here, we had a family room with bunks and the room is huge. Clean, close to everything. Good price. Would recommend.

friendly staff, spacious family room, everything was clean apart from the carpet, too many unnecessary plastics at the breakfast (e.g. instant oats)

The Cairn Hotel was a pleasant stay for my family and I. We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment which had plenty of space. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. There was a bit of miscommunication about the wifi at check in, however, it ended up working out just fine. I’d book again and recommend this hotel for a great stay in Edinburgh for all.

I chose this hotel purely because of price - Edinburgh is incredibly expensive in the run up to the Summer. The hotel is well located (between 2 tram stops) and the service was more than acceptable. The lobby was a little small and felt cramped when we arrived as one family were occupying the sofas but not a major issue. It has a nice cosy bar also. The room was a little on the small side and only had a single bed but was relatively comfortable and more than adequate for one night.

Wonderful stay. Special thanks to Bala for his hospitality and upgrading us to the apartment, which has everything you need for a perfect stay. Slept like a baby, great stay overall. One small tip, extra towels in the room would be handy.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel. We were 6 ladies staying in 2 family rooms and our request for single beds were met ( one bunk bed). Rooms are a good size with all facilities required ,inc iron and hairdryer. Water and snacks also provided. Only thing we struggled with a bit was lighting , another lamp would have helped . Breakfasts was good choice and value and good choice at the bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a good area for restaurants and bars and the play house and St James quarter shopping centre. I would stay here again.

Our family apartment was palatial, beautiful, clean, and in a lovely more residential (read quieter) area that was a short walking distance to the center. Very convenient to get to with lots of bags from Waverly station and a great table area for working
