Have zero clue about “safe sleep” or SIDS thought a pull out camp bed was suitable for under one years (the booking form asks your child’s age on booking) then looked confused when I asked them to remove it so I could bring in our travel cot from the car. Zero organisation at breakfast or even common sense, took best part of 30mins to just order on our first morning we just collared a waiter on our second morning. The food at breakfast is nice, would be nice if we weren’t all sharing the same sauce bowl… bathroom had lots or cracked tiles and bathroom cleaner was left in the room. Plenty of staff just a severe lack of organisation and coordination to ensure smooth running. Could also do with a bit of updating/refreshing in some areas (loads of cracked tiles in bathroom)

Best tip would be to get a parking pass on arrival and it will save you £5-and need to park behind the aquarium building or will need to move it during the night. Entrance and reception lovely and staff very helpful. When i saw the room it was dark and the bed seemed a small double. The window was dirty and looked out on drain pipes and we got the noise from the kitchen and there was a lot of movement noise from the room above (we had room 216). Bathroom was nice size and clean but the door had spilt coffee marks and needed a coat of white paint. The bar was dark and cold with only a couple of people sitting in their coats in early evening-but there was a lovely decorated room with nice chairs next door which seem under used. People seemed to be taking drinks from the bar to the conservatory which had nice seats and a view of the lake-indoor plants needed some TLC. Grounds well maintained and were lovely and had plenty of seating with good service-had a lunch snack which was nice but over priced. Had a hot chocolate that was small with no cream or marshmallows and was £5 (more expensive than costa and not as good) The spa and pool was amazing-fab pool one for lane swimming and one for kids. Hot tub. steam and saun brill-this made my stay- just a shame it was 7 till 7- it would of been good if it was open till later. Breakfast was good-plenty of choice and good service-we sat in the brassiere in stead of the main dining area which i think was best option.

Lovely child-friendly hotel. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Rooms a little dated but still very clean and spacious. Modern pool and spa area. Amazing view.

Lakeside hotel has a beautiful location although slightly off the main Lake District area, we found it peaceful and relaxing. There’s actually nothing apart from hotels at Newby Bridge. Having said that, children can enjoy feeding the ducks at the lake edge (free duck food available at reception!) and you might get to see the Peacock wandering around the grounds. Ferries take you to Bowness and Ambleside, which you might want to consider as parking in both places can be difficult even mid week. In terms of food, the restaurant is described as ‘fine dining’. The quality of the food can’t be faulted but we thought some portions very small for the price. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our two day break and enjoyed chats with some of the many overseas tourists who were staying there.

If I can give a negative score, I will give a negative score. I checked in at about 3 o'clock. After swimming with the child, I went back to the room and found that there was no hot water. After that, I called the customer service and waited for 15 minutes for someone to come to fix it. Does the Classic double room have no bathtub? The customer service replied to me that they are all the same without a bathtub. If you need it, you can pay for an upgrade, but in the end I found that the room they gave me was a Courtyard double room with a small price and a small area! Why do you want to deceive customers?

Lovely stay at the Lakeside hotel. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful and welcoming. The common area of the hotel looked newly refurbished. The pool was a nice surprise. Bigger and newer than expected. We had a lovely time using the facilities. Our room was nice and spacious but could do with an refresh like the rest of the hotel. The mattress and pillows felt worn and need upgrading. Food at the brasserie was delicious but a bit expensive for what it was. The lakeview restaurant seems to be better value for money. Breakfast was great but portion can be more generous. Overall a very lovely stay and I would recommend it to friends and family.

Beautiful setting, lovely hotel and staff and great facilities such as the spa and games room meant something for all the family. Conveniently situated on the lakeside meant access to the aquarium, steam train and the boat for Bowness.

As the lakes is a family favourite of ours we visit it frequently, however this was the first time at The Lakeside. With the exception of the service during Dinner (which was mainly down to inexperienced younger staff) We we extremely impressed! Genuinely now think this is our favourite hotel in the lakes - convent location, stunning views, great concierge team, amazing breakfast/breakfast staff - 100% recommended!
