Holiday Inn Express Stafford, an IHG Hotel

It was an unplanned stop over and very happy we found the hotel, if ever in the area again will definitely stay there and will be recommending it to friends and family. Staff were very polite, helpful and professional.

If this was reviewed on staff and cleanliness, it’s 5* absolutely. If it’s reviewed on my stay, it’s a 1*. If you are situated on the ground floor room, you might as well bring your earplugs now or request a different room. It’s like sleeping in reception, paired with (absolutely not the fault of the hotel). The people opposite coming in and out every 15 minutes, they also had a dog that barked everytime they heard someone. Add in people in the car park directly acting like it was midday at a festival, before midnight, I had to request another room, something I’ve never done, however I was woke up 3 times in an hour and a half and I could see the trend coming. The staff I spoke to were excellent, provided another room to sleep in whilst leaving our stuff in the original room to return to in the morning. The room on the second floor was much quieter however right outside the lift so heard that every time someone came up and then again (at no fault of the hotel) had a man shouting at the top of his voice at his kid at 07:30 in the morning. I’ve never experienced such selfish and awful behaviour from guests at a hotel before, I can’t fault the staff and the review is not a reflection on them at all, they were incredibly helpful and professional, but I absolutely would not be staying at that specific branch again.

The staff were really friendly, and we received a warm welcome. The room was clean, but a little cramped for a family. We arrived to find the pull-out bed half folded up. When unfolded, we couldn't access half the room. The main bed was smaller (standard double) than other hotels of a similar price range in the area where we've stayed before. Breakfast was nice enough and plentiful.

The bed was comfortable, breakfast was top tier, but the 'family' rooms are not cut out for 2 adults and 2 children. We really struggled moving around in this room. Nice touch with the shampoo and body wash. The cleaners were impeccable and even tidied the beds for us, with the kids blankets set up lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Great comfortable stay for a stop over after a busy day at Alton towers. Comfy beds, quiet room with drink and snacks available at reception for the kids to take to the room. Also coffee to go which was very good. Great breakfast to fill up on ready for another day.

I was met by Eden I think her name was . Wonderful member of staff, answered all my questions about the area and allergies for my children . Met her again at the bar later . Quick service and lovely chat with her . At breakfast she was very helpful too. Hotel very clean , staff friendly , loads of parking, great value . Just wonderful

Great hotel, very good location, right off the motorway. Great for an overnight stop if you are travelling with kids. There is a super grill restaurant and a McDonald's in the same parking area. Prices were good too for the 4 of us.

Good hotel but very congested room. No space apart from 2 beds. We spent just one night so it’s ok but it would have been very difficult in day time especially with kids.

This is our routine stopover choice for longer journeys. Note restaurant is not open on Sunday nights, but there is a McDonald's and a Green King family restaurant pub within the same grounds. Perfect.

A convenient and great place to stop over on a long journey to visit family. Welcoming staff and all helpful. Will definitely stay again.
