The Moat House

Beautiful setting for my sister in laws wedding… staff so attentive and beautiful grounds. Slept like a baby in our beautiful cosy room.

Brilliant stay at the Moat House and super convenient just off the M6 for us. Both reception and bar/ restaurant staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating for us with a young baby. Our evening meal was delicious and a great cooked breakfast in the morning. Lovely spacious room with character from the oak framed windows and beautiful setting outside. Would definitely come back again!

Had a very nice stay at the Moat House for a wedding. Food was excellent, plenty of parking around the vicinity and the views outside are incredible. My only gripes were the cutlery, glasses and plates were slightly dirty and the signage wasn’t very clear to navigate around the hotel, however the excellent staff certainly made up for this with their helpful manor. Wasn’t much in terms of facilities, certainly wouldn’t cater well to family’s or younger couples but very relaxing overall. Would certainly stay again for a do, or book for a venue. However wouldn’t stay for a random weekend getaway as there’s just not enough to do.

Great stay, dog friendly, family friendly, good size rooms and nice breakfast.

Normally stay at The Swan in town centre, but will stay here as much quieter. Staff are friendly and attentive, they even got my oatcakes for breakfast which took me back to my childhood.

Such a beautiful place and the breakfast was great. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and I enjoyed the added touches, such as bottles of water in the room. The breakfast waiter wasn't overly friendly but they arranged specially cooked gluten and dairy free options for us and coped with our two children, who are picky eaters. The two negative points for me were that my bed was too hard. The people we booked with said their bed was too soft so different mattresses would have made for a more comfortable stay. Plus, we had to have the windows open because it was hot but there was a lot of traffic noise. Can't be helped on the hottest day of the year. Overall a lovely place that we would come back to.

Very nice hotel. Large comfy bed, large clean bathroom. Late check in with night porter was not a problem. Family room set up with an extra beds for two children exactly as we had requested. Amazing breakfast right next to the canal in a bright conservatory. Can’t fault this place.
