DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park

Very convenient for visiting family, have stayed before and all ok.

It was a safe and quiet place for my family liking. Plenty of parking space. Will definately recommended it to anyone visiting from Liverpool.

Our stay was very smooth. The check-in experience was the best I have ever had. Nick was simply phenomenal as he engaged with our toddlers, gave them cookies and was very accommodating. The general manager was also very helpful. We had missed the children’s swimming time very slightly so he made an exception on a one off occasion to allow us to use the pool during adult time and the kids were beaming. Brilliant hotel, very well run so I would definitely recommend it.

Had a swimming pool, £5 per adult but free for the kids. Walking distance of a Toby carvery and a Sizzling pub. Very convenient just south of Sheffield.

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of Sheffield. Very clean and comfortable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because you have to pay to use the swimming pool, there are very limited times children can use the pool and when we tried to order from the bar menu, they hadn’t got a lot of the items available including pizza which I thought was pretty poor.

The signs on the road have another hotels name on there. Arrived and immediately saw over filled rubbish bins in car park and area littered with rubbish - not the best first impression . Reception was okay. Strange smell through corridors to our bedroom. Our actual bedroom was ok, but pretty dark (we arrived as evening was drawing in so had to close curtains) despite a number of lamps. The bathroom was really nice. Breakfast was really good. The decor around / near pool / gym area, when you look, is in poor shape. Staff at breakfast friendly. Staff on reception in morning couldn’t even say good morning. Did not feel like a Hilton - was very overpriced in my opinion. The bar menu was limited, tattered and the kids menu was on a scrappy bit of paper - felt very worn out (seems petty but was supposedly a 4 star). We had stayed at a double tree the same week and the difference was staggering. Sad to say but I wouldn’t stay at this one again. Another observation was that some of the lounge chairs felt like they were from many years ago - ugly & clumpy. Not sure if hotel is going through some sort of renovation ? We booked to use the pool in the morning but just wanted to go, so I can’t comment on that.

Check in staff were friendly and being offered a cookie each after a long day was a nice touch. I personally found the pillows to be way too soft for my liking which resulted in a not so settled sleep, however the mattress was very comfortable. Went swimming in the morning with our little one and were informed on arrival that children were only allowed in the pool until 10am. We'd arrived at about 9.30 and were planning a good hour long swim, we'd not been informed prior that this was the case so that was abit of a shame as we had booked the hotel mostly for its pool which we hardly got to take advantage of.
