Milford Hall Hotel & Spa

The location was brilliant for the town. We had no toilet roll in the rooms. The staff seemed immature and didnt really know how to handle the hotel - ie quoted wrong prices for breakfast and were asked 3 times to bring milk to room and they still forgot. We had a baby (they knew, as cot requested) but they put us on the top floor with no lift and nowhere to store buggy. The hairdryer almost caught fire and there was a large party in the hotel until the early hours with DJ music playing. I would not recommend this hotel.

Booked room well in advance of our arrival date. However, upon arriving in late afternoon we were advised we would have to wait, as they had a wedding function and our room wasn't ready. When asked how long it would be, we were told 10 minutes and asked to wait in the bar area. This was not what we expected after a long 2 hour 30 minute drive. After waiting 45 minutes, returned to reception where it was clear the young "receptionist" had clearly forgotten to let us know our room was ready. Not even offered a single complementary drink for the inconvenience and when we got to our room, the kettle didn't work. Rang reception for a replacement and had to call again after waiting for a further 40 minutes! Constant excuse given of "we have a wedding function at the moment" Extremely POOR first impressions and very bad check-in experience. First night extremely noisy with screaming children in corridor at 01.20 am and doors slamming closed. Staff did their best and very friendly but clearly this hotel needs more people on duty when the hotel is holding a function of any kind.
