Claxton Hotel

We love this hotel for the family room. Parking on site, access out of the front door to the beach, lovely walk up and down the coast. Redcar town is a bit run down, but there’s everything we need for a lovely break We particularly like the fresh breakfast options, cooked to our requirements rather than a buffet laid out for hours

Another great stay at this family run hotel. Fantastic service from all the staff. From check in to check out, I only have praise for the Claxton. To top off a pleasant stay was a cracking breakfast, a great kickstart for the day.

Overall fine we were traveling to see family so it was just a base to stay really

Lady at the front was lovely. The room was very bad. The doors were hard to unlock and open and they were very stiff, the door lock in the connecting room which kids stayed in was held on by one screw so very loose and struggle to lock it. Toilet seat was coming off, shower in kids room was very bizarre, looked like a new electric shower whiz you switched on and water came out the bottom as no hose connected, the shower next to it which was old, it spluttered the water out so unusable! Bedding was stained with yellow marks. The room needing a complete revamp. I will not stay here again. Staff were nice though and breakfast was ok.
