The hotel looks lovely. It smells great, the bedroom was great and the breakfast was great for the price too. Parking wasn’t too expensive. However, this hotel needs some lifts. I hated having to walk upstairs with my baby pram, my kid and my suitcases. That wasn’t convenient at all. The corridors need some love, too.

We arrived around 5.30 pm I was excited to see they had a family check in desk so went back to the car to get the kids so they could enjoy that experience but the check in lady asked us to move down. I told her we would like to use the family check in desk and complete the activities for the children but she just rolled her eyes and pretended like she didnt hear me. The hotel room is fine except the bathroom door is glass so if you need to go in the night the light disturbed the rest of the room with 2 adults and two children in the room its not ideal. The view from the window was a builders yard. There were stains on the carpet. The bed was comfortable. Didn't eat in the hotel as there weren't any childrens options so we elected to go into Oxford for food which was about 10 mins in the car to the city centre. Cost £7.60 to park. If you drive in before 7pm you have to pay the low emissions zone. Parking at the hotel was either £6 or £8 I can't remember. Reception area is nice. Swimming pool is tiny.

There was a major electronic outage. Nothing was available for my family to use and they also needed escorting to open their room.
I’d run to try to pay for the room beforehand and the system wouldn’t allow that. I also asked for something special as it was my sons 18th birthday on the Saturday, nothing. I would like a 50% refund on my stay.

Really nice hotel and in good condition. Check in queues, staff and service was an issue however. Despite calling the hotel in advance to confirm we’d requested a cot, there wasn’t a note when we arrived. We were also then told a cot may not fit because we ordered a “double family room”, which was odd as we’d put 2 adults and 2 children (with ages) on the booking and you’d assume a family room would be ok, with no warning when booking, the clue is in the room name! It was stress we didn’t need (a place for our baby to sleep!) and a cot did fit.
Site parking was also frustrating. Despite having a private car park, they still have a ticket machine and charge for it. The staff seemed confused about payment for it. We said we’d be driving in and out for dinner and can what do we do about payment tickets. They said pay each time and come back and sort it when you need to head out. We did that, re-queued for 15 mins at reception and they same receptionist that told us to come back then told the person ahead of us you can just pay for a 24 hour ticket that will allow you to come and go whenever. The queue caused us to be late for our dinner reservation and was a complete waste of time for something that should just be provided.

We stayed at the Leonardo for a week (May 24-31 2024)while visiting our grandchildren in Wolvercote. Initially, the room assigned to us was quite small. We couldn’t unpack two full size suitcases. Rena at reception worked to find us a room we could spread out in for the week. Thank you Rena you made our experience at the Leonardo a pleasurable one!

Spacious lobby and vibrant colour. Quick check in. However Room 138 is not an ideal room to stay in. Construction side outside the widows, the room is right next to the staircase, always noisy when people go up. The room has two double beds which is great for a family, but it has a giant spider next to the curtain rail and very dusty on the AC vent. Overall polite staff but don’t think we will stay again, don’t feel good value for money!

We stayed at the Leonardo Royal while visiting family members in Oxford. The stay could not have been better as far as the hotel is concerned. It was clean, comfortable and welcoming. The bedroom was comfortable. The bathroom is well-stocked, excellent tea and coffee-making facility. and the breakfast was first class.

Excellent customer service. We always stay at Royal Leonardo because it’s convenient and it has great facilities. The restaurant is very good and breakfast is delicious. The person in charge of our check in in room 345 on Friday April 19th was kind, polite and helpful with my kind request. Also, Jean Carlos at breakfast buffet is always very nice. I miss Kasey as he was extremely kind and polite and I must highlight his brilliant customer service. I know he is now based in Birmingham and I hope to greet him there too. The person in charge at the breakfast desk (a young Asian gentleman is very proactive and he was helping my husband to find me in the restaurant). Also, I love the upgrade room system, parking facility and self check in. The best surprise was some years ago when I got a present containing an Oxford beautiful cup, a key ring and a beautiful note as a welcoming back and an apology for an incident caused by another guest who was smoking and disturbed our corridor. What a lovely gesture!
Overall, I had a nice weekend thanks to Royal Leonardo! As a regular customer, I would like to get directly with the hotel, the same prices as Expedia offers. I highly recommend this hotel to my family, friends and Oxford University colleagues.
Kind regards filled with gratitude,
E Perez and A Garcia

Rooms, staff and overall appearance was immaculate. Pool was a little smaller than thought it would be but great for families with small children. Gym equipped with new modern gear and used twice while there. Parking was ample and much cheaper than other advertised hotels. A little further out then I thought to the city centre but with the help of the hotel staff found the bus stop with no bother. Buses into and from town every 10/15 mins so this would not put me off staying here again.

Hotel was great, check in was easy and we had a first floor room. Room was very clean. Unfortunately there was a party in one of the conference rooms and we could hear the music late, and it kept us and the kids awake. We were pretty tired from driving four hours that day and really wanted a good night sleep.
