George Street Hotel

We booked 2 nights but separately (the extra night was a nice surprise treat when when childcare plans changed). This meant we needed to check out after our first night and swap rooms. Not a problem for us - staff were very helpful & stored our luggage whilst we went out for the day. On coming back to check in again we found that the lovely staff had placed our bags in our new room ready for us which was a nice surprise! 1st room had a window & was on the 1st floor. Bit of noise from the pub which we expected but it ended fairly early and we still slept well. 2nd room had no window & I actually preferred this. Very cosy and snug. Beds & pillows are very comfortable, bathroom was spotless and the shower had good pressure & easy to control temperature. The hotel was directly opposite the theatre we came to Oxford for and so close to many restaurants, pubs & museums. It really is ideally placed if you like to be in the thick of things like we do.

Really great stay. Service was friendly and speedy. Our room was sparkling clean with coffee biscuits and lovely quality toiletries. Bed was comfortable and shower was good. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Great location, terrific staff, wonderful family owned and operated place

The check-in staff was helpful and friendly. We were very pleased with the family room we were given. The room was on the top floor with a small balcony and had a lot of natural light. It was clean and in relatively good condition. We did not have carry our luggage up stairs as there was a lift. It is in a great central location close to city restaurants and bars as well as local attractions eg Bodleian, Natural History Museum, Ashmolean Museum, theatre, etc. There are some supermarkets and shops close by. The area feels safe at night.

Very glad to have this addition to the portfolio of boutique hotels in Oxford. George Street Hotel is in the midst of a busy, centre city area. My room was quiet and comfortable. Many positives to this property esp for a solo traveller, business traveller. I cannot speak to how this would work with family (either children or aging parents).. Welcome GSH at a high level of quality.
