Our stay here was generally excellent. We managed to get a car parking space although it should be noted that there aren’t many space. The members of staff at reception were all very pleasant. Our room was excellent! I think we got an upgrade because we received a large corner suite with 4 rooms even though we’d only paid for a family room. The room was well appointed although the decor was dated, but in keeping with the hotel. The rooms were very spacious - we even had a four poster bed! The location of the hotel was also very convenient for Harrogate with the centre only a couple of minutes walk away. The only negatives were that the bed was a little too firm and noise from outside the hotel could be heard due to the old windows. But otherwise we had a good stay.

This was an amazing hotel at an amazing price. Our room was very clean and spacious. We had tea and coffee making facilities with plenty of milk. All the staff that we met were very friendly. The breakfast was exceptional with an array of pastries, cereals and full english breakfast buffet. We also came back for lunch in the newest addition to the hotel called The Place. The location was absolutely superb. It is idea for families as you have everything on the doorstep. Valley gardens ia just across the road with superb facilities for adults and children. Many well know restaurant's are just on the doorstep. I would highly recommend this place.

The Crown provides an excellent base to visit Harrogate. Parking is always an issue but due to my partner’s disability we were allocated a space for the final two nights. We did not eat in the hotel but we met members of her family in the lounge which was very comfortable. The room we had was the best we have had in several stays but the television didn’t work (didn’t miss it at all) and the shower was never warm and the flow was very poor. Every member of staff we met was excellent and very friendly. I have little doubt we will stay at The Crown again, hopefully the shower will be better next time.

We have been twice now to celebrate our children's wedding anniversary. Sadly my daughter in law was killed. The staff are friendly and courteous. A manager moved his car to give me a parking space as I'm disabled. The food was excellent.

As we had a 6 month old the only option of room through hotels.com was a family room which we were unfairly charged an extra £30 for then an ordinary room. Also we were given a room most furtherest from the entrance which we could get to the 3rd floor by lift but then we had an extra flight of stairs which was difficult with a push chair and baby and luggage. The room felt like a hostel, the carpets haven’t been hoovered, and were stained so having paid nearly £100 a night we were really disappointed and the fact the parking wasn’t included in price

Good size family room, dog friendly but expensive and no goodies for dogs like other hotels do,good breakfast and friendly staff. Parking is terrible especially having to pay each day while you stay which when you informed about it doesn't mean you are getting a cheap deal compared to other hotels. Carpets need cleaning there were stains on many and needed hoovering, room had no fan and being on the top floor was hot, windows do not open much so not much air . The hotel is a beautiful building but it could be better its in a great spot for Harrogate.

Other guest went into our room with key while we were sleeping! My family was getting scared. It was totally unacceptable. The reason was that the staff checked the other guest in with the same room number.
