Cedar Court Harrogate

Friendly staff and service. Comfortable bar area. Good car park. Attractive dining room. Breakfast options as expected. Room was spacious and comfortable and overlooked the Stray. We visit family in Harrogate and often stay over night in one of the local hotels. This was our first time at the Cedar Court and we would happily stay again.

Visiting family

We are a young family with a toddler. The family room was perfect for us and to be fair it has all the equipment needed from teas and coffee facilities to iron and ironing boards. The only reason I gave 3 stars for cleanliness was due to the moulds around the grouting of the bath. The tiles have orange water stains. In terms of the cutlery during breakfast there were few stubborned food stuck to it and sticky mug. The location was perfect easy walk to the center of Harrogate. In fact it is one straight road to the train station (less than 10 mins). We were recommended to catch the bus to Knaresborough, which was right behind the bus stop right behind the hotel that was a bonus (every 7 mins a bus and bus journey of 10mins). However, the staff did not advised us that due to night time road closure (road works that have been happening over a week) the bus stop was closed on the way back. This was somewhat inconvenient with the toddler. The bed mattress felt it was abit worn as you can feel the spring more towards a hard mattress. Also, we were able to hear a whole telephone conversation from next room. Finally the buffet breakfast, it has various selection of pastries, cereals and English breakfast items. It was reasonable for the price and kids eat free but all I can say is that it does it job of filling the hole( a functional breakfast due to convenience). Unfortunately, I witnessed staff grievance in the dining room. Somewhat awkwardness.

Our stay at Cedar hotel for a night was brilliant. Staff are very welcome, room is warm. Hotel food is very good that met everyone’s needs. Stayed at Cedar Court to vist family in surrounding area. Nice central location within walking distance of Harrogate cafes and restauarnts. Right opposite Harrrogate Park Run on Saturday morning if you're into that. Didn't use the hotel restaurant so can't comment but did use bar and reception area. All good. It's a cashless hotel so bring lots of 50ps for the pool table!
