Holiday Inn Newcastle Jesmond, an IHG Hotel

Hotel was very good staff were lovely especially dining area staff been to this hotel before and came back because of convenience of area come to Newcastle frequently as our family live here but won't go back to this hotel again due to them now charging u for parking to stay at there hotel now which they didn't before I think is so wrong we added £40 on to our bill for a four night stay

I’ve stayed here countless times over years as it’s very convenient for visiting family and generally very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. However, this trip was disappointing. Parking, which always used to be free, is now £10 per night but despite that is very limited. One night we had to park on the ramp as there were no spaces. In addition to that, there were boiler troubles when we stayed meaning that there was no water one day, and throughout the stay the plumbing in the room was very noisy. No acknowledgment or apology for this. We’ll give it another chance but with so many hotels nearby the holiday inn need to do better.

Visit to Newcastle to visit family. Have stayed at hotel in many occasions over the years and pick due to convenience and proximity to family and town. Cons: First thing to note was hike in prices due to Easter Break! Only had standard double room due to inflated prices (have paid less for premium rooms in past!). Bed was on last legs and ended up on floor on second night due to bad back. When mentioning on leaving hotel reception admitted they were aware of bed issue(s) and that certain rooms were due to have them replaced. I COMMENTED WAS IT MORAL TO ALLOW THE ROOMS TO BE USED KNOWING THIS!!!! Large rip in shower curtain made it challenging not to soak bathroom when showering. Towels were hit and miss and many threadbare! Bemused Car park was packed and could not get in on second night so forced to park in local side street. Pros: Locality, limited car free car parking, normally good value. Breakfast was reasonable with good selection of hot and cold and selection of pastries. Ate in hotel on first evening and okay quality and value.
