Humber Royal Hotel

Good location and easy parking. Hotel is more of a 3+ rather than 4*. Room- not very clean, hairs around the bathroom, towels smelt old and musty and no soap provided for hand washing. Mattress’s and pillows hard, especially the sofa bed- my children couldn’t sleep on it because it was so hard. Dining area- clean tidy and modern. Breakfast- cereal, toast, pastries, fruits and meats. Quite limited and definitely needs more choice. Cooked breakfast nice and no complaints. Dinner/Tea- Good choice and because we went Bed, breakfast and dinner we had £20 per adults and £10 per child to use towards dinner. My husband had the steak and he said it was great. I had Lasagne and it was ok, bit greasy, it came with a salad which was wilted and greasy tasting chips. Son had Macaroni & cheese which was bland and wouldn’t eat it- normally eats everything! Daughter sausage, beans & chips which she ate all of except chips. Glad we didn’t have to pay full price for this! Staff were really friendly and even though the food times were a bit slow, they were very attentive.

Ideal for visiting family, just where we need to be. Nice hotel, nice staff, clean and comfortable if a little dated!

From the outside the hotel looks quite grim and uninviting, but there is not much that can be done about that - it's the building. However, there is ample parking, the welcome was warm, the staff friendly, the room large, comfortable and with a lovely outlook over the golf course. We prepaid for our breakfast which included a normal buffet selection and a freshly cooked option which we couldn't fault. We did not eat an evening meal at the hotel but would have been happy to do so. We will definitely stay here again when we visit family in Grimsby.

From the outside this hotel isnt very pleasant however once inside all is quite modern and clean, couldn't fault the staff they were so friendly and attentive, great place to stay with the family, food was also very good. Nice view of the golf course from our room, room was clean and over all a good standard.
