White Horse Hotel

Generally we were pleased with our stay. It suited our requirements i.e. spending Christmas with family who live in the High Street. Refurbishment at the hotel has been very well done. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast on Christmas Eve was impressive. A very good selection and service was good. However, the same could not be said for Christmas Day and Boxing Day when service was not up to standard. Organisation was lacking. The biggest criticism though was that on checking out we were told there was a parking charge of £10 per night. On telling the receptionist that we had never been made aware of this we were told 'it is in the small print'. On later checking our paperwork we could not find this. Our son and his wife stayed at the hotel at the same time and their opinion was the same. We all said that if we had known at the time, we would have parked in the council car park behind our son's house which was free. All in all there are good aspects to staying in this hotel, particularly situation which is in the middle of the High Street, but there is room for improvement. However,
