My Brighton

Great location in the North Laine area of Brighton. Easy walking distance to bars/restaurants/seafront/Conference Centre and train station (uphill on the return). A Tesco Express is immediately opposite for any bits you might need. Room is as per other reviews - the bathroom a curious set-up with opening to room from the vanity which also has a 'hole' in the wall looking onto the bed (not the TV which might have be helpful). The toilet has a frosted glass door and the shower is immediately opposite the vanity with a coloured door (so visible from the sleeping area). There is no wardrobe, just two hooks with a couple of hangers on each (two of which seemed to be for children's clothes they were that small). There are also no drawers, just minimal shelving area under the desk where you will find the kettle, mugs, glasses and supplies. The bedside cabinet/shelf juts out from the bedframe itself so if you're short like me it makes getting in and out a little uncomfortable. The desk is curved and the natural working area is where the desk is at its narrowest so not great for working at. The chair (the only one in the room) is plastic so not comfortable. Air conditioning works (but would have preferred to be able to open window) but I think it might have been this that made 'pinging' noises throughout the night. Breakfast was quite 'haphazard'. First morning was a selection of pastries/pots with coffee and juice but staff were overwhelmed by the number of guests.

Great location if you want to be in the North Laine area of the city. The hotel check-in was terrible- very chaotic and unnecessary. Paid nearly £550 for two nights and would say that it was not worth the money. It was quite basic and the photos are clearly of when the hotel was first built as it is a bit tired now in the rooms. Also, very little privacy if you are just friends or family. You can see someone going to the toilet and shower as it is glass doors so be aware!

A modern hotel with comfortable and spacious rooms in the centre of Brighton. I’ve stayed 2 nights. I’ve already recommended to friends and family.
