The Holt Hotel

I booked this hotel so that I could get an early check in as a VIP member, after a long flight from the US. I arrived 2 hours early and was told that the room was available, but I would have to pay if I wanted to check in an earlier. I did not receive any of the VIP Expedia benefits and had to put up with a very rude receptionist called Hadia in the evening who kept talking over me. I called the reception and was in my pajamas but she told me I needed to go down to see her so I had to change to go down to talk to her. She then continued to talk over me very rudely telling me that I did not get the benefits because I did not ask for them at check in and that now I was not going to get them because I had a bad attitude. The new junior receptionist, Lily Anne should be better trained and understand the Expedia VIP benefits.

Travelled as a family of 3 and the hotel really accomodated us- even getting milk for my son at 6am. I wish we'd been given a sheet for his travel cot- he probably would have slept better if there was a sheet on the cot. But other than that, we had a lovely stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful . Room was a great surprise we have never had a family room with 2 bedrooms Evening meal was excellent well presented and high standard. Cocktails were amazing .

Room was a little dusty in areas, could do with a deep clean. Dining was limtied menu, not alot for kids

Expedia messed up because the room I booked through them wasn't really fit for two adults and a child. The person at the reception converted the original room with another one made for three guests. The breakfast was rich and really good.

A relaxing break thanks to the excellent hospitality skills of Charlie the manager - what a gem! Be sure to book a table for dinner as it can get busy. Lovely little well maintained garden and separate grass space for kids (or dogs) to enjoy ball games too. Wonderfully dog friendly, good food and a great selection at the bar.

We had a family room for 4. The room was spacious and clean,perfect for us ,4 adults. The staff were so friendly,chatty and helpful The surrounding area and hotel grounds looked lovely even though it wasn't the weather to sit outside. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, both breakfast (delicious compote!) and evening meal. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would recommend.

Nice hotel close to the Costwolds area. The room was great and spacious, just what our family needed.

Pefectly good hotel for a family stay. Helpful, friendly staff and delicious varied breakfast. Something for all.
