The Pearl Airport Hotel

Things that I liked about the hotel: welcoming personel, great breakfast and the distance to the airport, fairly new room condition. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. There is nothing but construction (roads and new condos being build), animals- (goats, chickens, stray dogs, etc.), and appartment buildings. I just needed a bed, so it didnt really bother me. What I didnt expect is to hear the rats in the middle of the night. I was staying on the top floor and they would run up and down inside the walls and ceiling. Thankfully, not inside the room but I didnt risk ordering food from the menu. The breakfast was prepared fresh in front of me at 7am :) Also, there is no soundproofing. The whole floor could hear an infant crying in his room.

I am a native NYer. I work in Manhattan and am a big guy, very much in shape. I have never feared for my safety in NY but did in the area surrounding this hotel. To say “ghetto” would be generous. It’s a complete dump with very shady characters. The closest food was 1/4 mile away, on foot, dodging very sketch kids demanding money and adults who looked really unhappy. If you are a single female do not stay here. Now onto the hotel. Nice staff and clean room. I had to call and ask for body wash and towels as none were in my room upon checkin. Wi-Fi wasn’t working and the TV only offered Turkish channels. Also, rooms on the 5th floor had a lot of noise to deal with because of the elevator mechanical room. Literally every time the elevator ran you heard clicking and mechanical slamming just 2 doors down. Made falling asleep very difficult. Listen, you get what you pay for, but for the reasons I’ve listed above I would absolutely avoid this hotel. .

It was very pleasant days staying in this hotel! Staff were very polite, with understanding for all my requests- to help with transportation, tours, shopping. Definitely will recommend to my family and friends.

A perfect one nighter for a layover … family run small small hotel within 15 min of the airport. You ou don’t need to leave the hotel … food will be delivered at a very reasonable cost and the owners will provide tea and sweets … we didn’t stay for breakfast but the hotel called a taxi for us at 5:30am and it was a perfect stay.
