Menalo Hotel Premium Istanbul Airport

Excellent hotel for proximity to IST airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great onsite restaurant. Also has a family oriented vibe

It's a cute hotel in a mostly undeveloped location. We stayed in early March, so the weather was cool but mild... the room was overheating from the radiators and the air conditioning wouldn't turn on cooling. There were no instructions for the HVAC controls nor the safe. The "King size" bed was just two twin beds pushed together with King Size sheets and they immediately slid apart. The rooms are advertised as "sound proof" but I had to use ear plugs to sleep because of a baby crying and a young child talking loudly in the next room. The sound of any door, footsteps, or voice in the hallway also carried into the room as if the door was not there.

My wife and I just loved staying at this hotel. The whole place was spotless. The staff was extremely professional and helpful in every way. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to all of our friends and family.

Great communication, wonderful front desk representatives, very friendly and welcoming staff. Property is clean and well maintained. The location is safe but not ideal for families with kids: nothing to do for kids on premises or around, restaurant is not kid friendly - no kids menu, not many food option for even non-picky eaters. Extremely overpriced. Refrigerator wasn't working - very inconvenient.

When I arrived my room did not have AC. I was first told that the key card needed to be put in the key card holder for the AC to start. I thought it was odd but I was tired from a long flight and waited. 30 mn later I could not start the AC. I called the front desk who sent someone immediately. The same guy came back and looked like he did not know what he was doing. But he did notice the AC was not working. I received a phone call a few minutes later telling me that because it was July, it was hot and that is just the way the AC works. I argued that it was actually not working and requested a change of room. I was told they were full but they were sending someone else to double check the issue. 30 mn later nothing. I came down to the front office twice. the first time they sent me back to the room saying there is nothing they could do for me and I just needed to wait. it was 10 pm when I came back a second time requesting to speaking to a manager. There were 5-6 men talking to each other but no one talked to me directly. At this point I was exhausted, hot, and angry at the lack of interest in my issue. I left the front desk so I can have dinner with my kids who were waiting for me in the room. When I got to the room I was told that I was finally given a new room I had to take my own luggage and move to a different building just to be told that I needed to go back to the original room as the issue was fixed. I of course refused. No one ever apologized.
