Oriental Residence Bangkok

I had booked an eight week vacation. We stayed in 5 star hotels in Honolulu, Phuket, Singapore. Sydney, Cebu, Manila, and Bangkok. Out of all the hotels this one was the most extravagant when it came to size and amenities of the room itself. Like most hotels it offers free glass bottled water, daily turn down service. But our room was the corner suite 2101 and it was 3 bedrooms plus 3 full sized bathrooms. It was massive for our family of four. The hotel also has large lap pool. In addition, the entire hotel staff from front gate security, concierge, check-in and front desk were all very attentive and professional. We also ate at the adjacent onsite restaurant, after a long flight and post check-in we wanted some great Thai food, Kiran and Mook were extremely kind and they answered a lot of our questions not on just their restaurant’s lovely cuisine which was very flavorful and satisfying but also on a whole bunch of other random questions, they were very kind and willing to allocate some time and advice on where locals eat and shop. There is a bank ATM across the street, a nice set of Thai massage parlors, and fairly close to other malls via a 10 to 30 minute “Grab”. It was our favorite hotel. Bangkok is filled with happy and loving people. Our last stop was London, and you can see the difference when it comes to customer service. If you are a family traveling with children. My family and I highly recommend this five star hotel.

Excellent breakfast, nice & spacious hotel room with family, very friendly and helpful staffs such as Emma, Eye, bartender and others. I will choose Oriental Residence again if I come here next time

The property is pretty conveniently located, walking distance to a mall but it could feel rather long given the Bangkok heat. What I didn't like was that at check-in the staff was a little bit confused, we had booked a junior suite which on Expedia says capacity is for 3. But what she told me was that the room capacity is only 2, then I had to show the expedia listing to prove it. To which I then asked if she can put an extra bed, even at a fee it is fine. And she said yes, can. Then when I was given my room, it was on a floor that was completely dirty due to "renovation and the laying down of cement / gravel". There were construction material laid out on the ground from the elevator to the corridor of the rooms, and I wasn't given any prewarning about this. I had to go back down and ask for another room as I am allergic to dust and didn't want to risk anything. Apparently the renovation was only for the day but I still requested for another floor as carrying my luggage through that ambience and going in and out of the room in that environment just didn't set the tone right for the holidays. As I checked the room availability for the coming few days, I saw that there were several suite rooms still available and as VIP usually I would get the upgrade, but I wasn't offered it - not sure why. After the room floor change, all started to get better and the stay was fine. Service was a little slow, we had to repeatedly ask them to set up extra bed and provide more towels.

Very beautiful and comfortable place to stay, either as a family with children, or as friends wanting to stay together. Rooms are very spacious, the two bedrooms are very nice with 2 bathrooms. All the decorative details are both stylish and sensible, and the staff are all super helpful and pleasant. We will definitely go back

Homely-feel. Very courteous & cheerful front desk staff. Efficient check-in. Tall ceilings at lobby, very colonial feel, white in colour...clean & pleasing to the eye. The welcoming scent at the lobby has calming effects:)) Cabinet paper lined in all drawers which was a super plus point. We didn’t hv to place paper bags in them in order to put our clothes & accessories. So clean. Loved the fact that everything we needed could be found in the apartment, even a shoe-horn stick. Functional kitchenette, it has settled all our needs. TWG tea bags. Walk-in wardrobe is within the reasonably big bathroom. Very self-sufficient. Fantastic breakfast & lunch menu at Cafe Claire, very high quality/organic foods! Wonderfully tasty. Lots of greenery around the Residences. Quiet location. Near to Embassy Mall & other shopping areas (we hired a car/driver to bring us around). Small gym but it has good equipment, overlooking luscious green. Loved nature! Pool is partially sheltered. When it drizzles, no qualms, continue to swim. All of us are happy, zero complaints. Quiet corridors... very pleasant environment. Highly recommend for short or long stayers coming as a family or for business.
