Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel

Traveled with Family, overall not overly impressed. Booked this location because it was a Mariott member and because usually Renaissance hotels are good but this was a bit of an exceptions. Beds were overly hard, like the plane seats felt more cushioned than the beds. The food options are limited since the restaurant closes until 7:30pm. Very understaffed. The bars only had one attendant on a sunday. Got “upgraded” to a junior suite when in reality we got downgraded to a room with less space than what we booked. They told us we were getting an upgrade because the rooms weren’t ready even tho we got to the hotel after check-in start time. After all that, getting an uber was impossible, we had to grab the subway to roll into town. If they change the beds, good enough for business travel but not for a family vacation.

Stayed with family. Room was good but weird design I didn’t take the black room. Surely not for people with fear of height as it’s an open design. Bathroom design is all wrong I had to put towels to stop water seepage. Flooring shows signs of water leakage as it isn’t possible to bath without water spilling outside.

We checked in only for 2 nights, or checked in the evening at 8pm. Our Ac was not working, the clogged would drain, did not clean our room ( we have toddler with diapers), found out the pool was closed, complained multiple times, offered us free breakfast but we were checking out at 7 am. Told us they would come back after speaking to manager with better resolution, did not hear from them, after multiple calls to front desk, Natalia who was helping us left for the day, we were advised there is no night time manager we could speak too! Just very horrible customer service.

Bathroom walls made of SEE-THROUGH glass?? Lacks privacy. Not at all a family oriented hotel. Inside is all white with wooden flooring. Seems as though you are sleeping inside of an Apple store. Should be avoided by families, period.

The property was unique. I brought my family here. My young adult children would have preferred to be in the city center. I had no problem with being away from the crowds to rest. Had to take taxis and the metro to get around but I think you would have to do some of that no matter where you stay. The breakfast buffet was delightful.

Black junior suites are nice. Wouldn't want to stay in the other rooms because of the windows. Watch your step in the showers, they're slippery when wet.
