Sol House Costa del Sol

Great hotel at a great location. The hotel looks exactly like it does in the pictures. The pool is very nice, the food is good too and the staff very friendly and hardworking. My only complaint is the rules regarding the sunbeds - it refrains families to eat breakfast together.

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel and we had a lovely time - the family room is a good size and the kids were in the pool the majority of the time. The only downside of our most recent stay was the convention of american "christian humanitarians" also at the hotel - they were very loud and generally oblivious to anyone else. I'd love to see more variety in the food - the GF bread is a godsend, but there's not much awareness of other dietary requirements.

Beautiful pool and very fair in terms of getting sunbeds. Food was excellent in terms of choice with a vast buffet for breakfast and dinner. Drinks and food prices were very reasonable vs outside bars and restaurants. Good daily pool activities for kids.

The hotel itself is nice enough. If I were 19 and looking to party, this would be the ideal spot. But since I am 36 and looking to relax, it was not great. Positives: Nice facilities overall. Room was nice. AC worked well. Adjacent to beach with chairs/umbrellas for rent (6 euros per chair per day). Sandy beach. Nearby beach-front restaurants. Pool bar makes great smoothies and ham sandwiches. Strangely-entertaining bands in the evenings in the lobby bar. Nice pools (1 big, 2 small, 1 kiddie). Towels available for a 10 euro refundable deposit per towel. NEGATIVES: Party atmosphere. PACKED pool and beach. Loud DJ and performers by the pool. Loud karaoke bar across the street. Tiny shower. The loudest-flushing toilet known to mankind. People on the beach trying to sell you foot massages or weird clothes. Freezing sea water. Burning-hot sand. Main hotel "restaurant" is a gigantic buffet for all meals. Lock to our room was broken. Did I already mention the CROWDS?

Very very loud in the pool area. No possibility to relax, read a book or listen to podcast because of the crazy loudness from 10 in the morning through out the whole day. Different music playing in every corner and screaming pool staff. But we could see that the kids had fun. We did not have any contact with staff and had the experience that they were too busy, as they didn’t smile or say hello if guests walked by the lobby. Breakfast was good and the area was clean. Room was a big disappointment. We booked a suite because we wanted to have the comfort that usually follows when paying more for room quality. Room was shabby, sofa dirty and floor not cleaned. Shower had either warm or cold and very little pressure. Bar and pool restaurant was expensive. All in all, we will not stay there again.
