Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Seoul Myeongdong

My family stayed at Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel during our stay at Myeongdong. This hotel is centrally located in the Myeongdong area, making it an ideal spot with easy access to numerous shops and restaurants such as the Olive Young Main Branch, nyu nyu, Breadypost, and Myeongdong Kyoja Main Branch to name a few. Lotte Department Store and Namdaemun Market are also about 10min walk and the cable car to NamSan tower is probably 15-20 min walk uphill. The Myeongdong neighborhood is bustling with activity, especially on weekends, as both tourists and locals fill the streets. While it wasn't an issue for us getting to and from the hotel, it did take some time to get accustomed to the busy atmosphere. There is no locker for luggage if you arrive early, but a hotel staff member watches over all guests' luggage until check-in time. We had a family twin room during our stay which was within our budget. The room was small, as we expected, but the toilet was in its own stall separate from the shower and bathtub area, which was nice as it allowed multiple people to use the restroom simultaneously. I was enjoying my stay until I saw a huge cockroach near the toilet early in the morning. I have no idea where it came from and where it went. I would have considered staying at Solaria for my next visit to Myeongdong, but this experience has made me reconsider.

Great hotel stay at one of the most busy shopping street in Seoul. Can’t really complain about anything, though the room is slightly small for 2 adults and 2 kids. Will choose to stay there in the future. We stayed there for 8 nights in total

Location right in the middle of Myeongdong. Hard for taxi to drive near to due to location. Raining and not great getting to it with luggage and kids on check in day. Otherwise hotel is in a great spot and very nicely maintained with great friendly staff.

Booked 2 twin rooms for our family for total of 8 nights, our first visit to Seoul. The location is good, easy to find our way around Myeong-dong. Famous Kyoja noodle and dumpling restaurant directly across the hotel entrance, lots of street food in the evening. Hotel is comfortable, clean and check in was a breeze. Front staff speak English, Japanese and Korean and were v helpful. We were given a coupon for welcome drink and cookies at the lobby cafe. Lobby has really nice view of the Myeong-dong neighbourhood. Many good coffee places around! Bathroom and toilet always clean, everything worked (we love Japanese toilets). Family enjoyed our staff very much. Only downside was that the rooms were very heated, and even with windows opened as far as possible it was still very warm at night. Rions have humidifiers, small fridge (no freezer compartment), slippers and night gowns. Toothbrushes are for sale at vending machine at the lobby.
