Although the security for the property itself was very good, the area outside and around the property did not encourage casual excursions. This is one of the few properties in the area of the O.R. Tambo airport that offers "family rooms", which is much appreciated, especially when staying over between connecting flights. I had made a booking of the required room, eight months in advance of our stay, particularly because of the "family room" option and because we also needed a late checkout. Although the hotel policies had changed by the date of our actual arrival, the hotel graciously honoured the prior booking arrangement.

Liked the property because of its proximity to the airport and the complementary shuttle!! It is also one of the few hotels in the aea that offer family rooms with capacity for four!

Staff overworked (can’t prepare rooms or respond to emails in a timely manner), hidden fees (1200 rand for 1 hr early checkin? Really?), no heat, power kept restarting (waking parents and children). Food was delicious and a couple staff were very kind to us
