Se Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection By Hilton

While the atmosphere of the hotel is quirky and modern, there were several things that made it not so good. Definitely style over functionality. First, the sign outside is horrible. It’s broken up in glowing lights to read Cate Dral. It looks like a pub so I walked right by. Second, there are steps to walk up from the lobby so lifting suitcases up three step just to get to the hallway is rough. Third, the room. Yikes, the room! No privacy at all! The shower door opens up into the actual bedroom so to get dressed, you have to come out into the room. If you’re with family or friends you have zero privacy. The lighting is horrific. Dim everywhere even around the mirror, which is positioned wrong to the side of the sink. Impossible to apply makeup with the shadows and awful lighting. The sink faucet knob is also terrible to use and you end up getting water everywhere because you have to reach out of the sink to turn it off. So while there are many miserable things about the room, the beds are soft and the pillows are large and comfy. They seriously need to add more lights around the mirror!

Beautiful hotel in a central location. Easy walking distance to everything Porto had to offer. We were in a junior suite which was stunning. Super king comfy bed and a fantastic shower. Would definitely stay again.

What a great staff at this hotel. Very warm, welcoming, friendly, always helping and everyone is always smiling, Special mention to Roger, Joao, Francischa, Erika, Arthur and Delfin. Stayed here for 10 nights and absolutely loved it!! I would certainly recommend to family and friends and next time I am in Porto, this his the hotel I will be checking in.

Staying in this hotel was one of the highlights of our Portugal trip. The location is perfect. It’s across from SE Cathedral and steps away from the Luis bridge and Sao Bento station. The hotel is almost brand new with fun and modern decorations. Once we stepped into the hotel, we felt being treated like VIP. They had the sofa bed prepared for our child before we arrived. They also sent a welcome fruit plate and hand written welcome note. Breakfast was super. All of these made our stay very pleasant. If you come to Porto, this is undoubtedly the place to stay. Don’t have to look further.
