We stayed at the ibis before an early morning flight. It's a 10-15 min walk away from Auckland airport, or you can get a bus to and from the airport for about $8 for adults, kids are free. We were impressed with the hotel, it was really busy, but the staff were friendly, rooms were compact but clean, tidy and functional. Reception area in the hotel has tables, chairs a little play area and a microwave so you can get food from a nearby supermarket and eat in.. thought this was a great idea. Would recommend to travellers.

Good: the shuttle runs every 25 minutes and the hotel is close if you want to walk. There is a coffee machine in the lobby and a small place for kids to play.
Cons: the place is truly a budget hotel. The rooms are too small, the AC though fails to cool down even that timy space. No shampoo, no conditioner, and a stiff bed that occupies the entire room. Also, found a bug of unknown origin, sitting on the wall, a bit smaller than a spider.
Summary: only good for one night if you're desperate. Otherwise stay away.

This is our second stay at the Ibis Budget Hotel. The hotel is in a really great location with an easy 15min flat walk to the airport. You can catch an airport bus directly to Skycity Casino in the city or take public transport from the terminal area.
The staff at the hotel are super nice and helpful. The reception area has tea, coffee, water, flight information screens, childrens toys, tables and chairs.
We will stay here again.

A good place to overnight. The family rooms are small though so one night was enough. Clean and tidy.

good. The staffs were also kind.
There were noises from other guests, such as people talking loudly in the hallway and infants who kept crying in the middle of the night.

the room is really smaller than what we expect. Do not bring more than 2 big luggage inside the room otherwise you cannot walk any as it is very limited space for you to put the luggage with you. We have to put our 4 luggage near the door which is the only way we can leave the luggage. If an emergency happens we may block ourself for the exit way... They need to warn the customers before so that we know that there is a risk for staying this hotel. It is good for pack-backed traveler not for family or couple traveler with a huge luggage

Dining/kitchen area (tables, microwave, kettle, cutlery etc) is excellent. Supermarket next door along with fast food options. Small rooms with comfortable queen bed but the mattresses on the bunk beds were terrible, thin & very uncomfortable for the kids

Nice stay, only letdown was the quality of the beds, my kids said they were just as hard as the floor

Booked a room 2 adults and a teenage child. Appalled at how small the room was - barely room to move and we were literally having to brace o. The wall everytime we moved.
The bunk was above the main bed which was creating anxiety and some fear thinking the bed would fall!
They advertise and ibis budget and it’s definitely not a budget price for the room.
Only upside was that it had free parking 😊

Checked in pretty late, had no issue finding a carpark space. Room is very compact but we knew that going in. Checked in late and checked out early for a flight and this place was fine for that. Countdown and McDS in walking distance. Traveled with wife an kid.
