This is a great property for families. It is located very near a supermarket and cafes. The staff were very helpful on arrival even if we did have to bang on the door to gain entrance when we first arrived! The bathroom was very small when trying to have a shower and not spray water every where. This was the only negative thing.

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay. After reading some of the other reviews, it seems that the canal view family suite is the way to go. That was the room we booked, and we thought it was great. Comfy, spacious, and full of character - with a great view as well. We came from Paris and London and this was the best of our accommodations by far. The staff was friendly, nice welcome and snacks provided throughout the stay. Excellent access to the city. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff was amazing at check in. They help us with taxi's and restaurant recommendations. We were a family of 5 and staying the the 3 bedroom apartment. We had our own balcony and beautiful view of one of the main canals. We had a great location only about 5 minute walk to Anne Frank House and about a 15 minute walk to Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. There were alot of great restaurants all around.

We contracted a bacterial infection during our stay, which we suspect was due to poor housekeeping. Our room was in a converted attic, up a steep set of narrow stairs. There is no lift, or assistance with your luggage. Housekeeping did not provide clean cups. Reception could not help, so we used disposable paper cups for the rest of our stay. There is no air-conditioning, and we were in the attic room, in the middle of summer, with temperatures around 30 degrees. Therefore we had to keep windows open, and my whole family were eaten alive by mosquitos. There are no bathrobes or slippers. No telephone in the room (so you have to walk all the way to reception every time). We were not allowed to use our bathroom after a leak developed into the room below, so had to use the reception toilet, which was literally in a construction site. Our towels and sheets were NOT changed during the course of our stay, which might be fine, except that there was nowhere to hang your towel, so became soiled after each use. And the lack of air-conditioning meant that we sweated through our sheets every night, and left the imprints of the many mosquitos which had feasted on our flesh. Crawled our way home. Sick. Seeking medical help.

We had an amazing stay at Canal Boutique Apartments. It was very easy to find; a quick ride on the trolly followed by a short, 5 minute walk. All of the staff were super friendly, always willing to help with whatever we needed. We were upgraded to the apartment, very spacious. The bedroom was large and the bed itself was very comfortable, one of the most comfortable we have slept on in Europe. The bathroom had a bath tub, which worked out well with our toddler! The whole place was very clean and quiet. There was construction on the corner about 4 houses down, but we never heard anything.
