Rocamar Hotel Panoramico Isla Mujeres

This is a great place to stay at especially because the location and the amazing views overlooking the water. However, make sure you get a room on either the 2nd or 3rd floors. I requested a room with sea view on the 2nd (or top) floor but when I got there I found out that they were all taken. When on the first floor or even the lower floor you get quite a lot of youngsters right outside your balcony in the evenings because it’s a shady place. Friendly people of course but there was some loud music etc a couple of days which isn’t that nice when you just want to enjoy the quietness in your hammock.

We stayed one week at Rocamar and loved it! We will definitely return. It is a no frills hotel and won't satisfy everyone, but it was exactly what we were looking for. Incredible ocean views, in fact the rooms almost hang over the edge of the ocean. Fell asleep every night to the sound of CRASHING waves. The bathroom is a strange set up which would be kind of awkward if you were staying with friends or children but it was just my husband and me so it worked for us. The bathroom has glass walls so anyone in the room can see everything you are doing. There are yellow "tarp-like" curtains that you can pull to block the view but the curtains weren't quite big enough to cover the entire wall. Oh well, no big deal. There was a coffee maker but they charged $1 for the coffee. I brought coffee with us. There is a mini fridge and a water pitcher you can refill from water dispensers in the hallway. There is a microwave in the lobby we used to heat up leftovers. There is also instant coffee and tea in the lobby. The location is fabulous for walking into town to eat and shop. We rented a golf cart for the week and had fun cruising all over the island. They have secure parking. There is a small pool with lots of tables and chairs and loungers. There is free wifi. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
