Had a wonderful stay. This property was perfect for our family of 4. We were able to have 2 bedrooms each with a bathroom, a small kitchen, living space, balcony and a fabulous view and sunset each night. The onsite restaurant was casual and perfect for our needs providing breakfast through dinner with room service if requested. The location provided easy walking access to shopping and fabulous restaurants. The staff was helpful, attentive and conscientious. All of this on the most beautiful beach on the island! If we get to come back we will stay here again!

It's in a good place for beginning of North Beach. Problem is many come in through the street straight into where the private chairs are set for the guest of Ixchel. So they park it in the little beach that's in front of you and wind up blocking your view or your entry into the water. Also, found out many of the rooms are privately owned and made it difficult to change rooms. We stayed in the worst room in the hotel for the first 4 nights [1st floor, no patio, no view, and super noisy since it was the closest to lobby and elevators]. They made it look like it was an act of God to change rooms since we had booked a "Standard room". There were more "Standard rooms". The deal I made was to go to a suite for 4 more nights, privately owned, For an additional $415 and move again the 5th night back to a better "Standard room". I agreed to do it and the hospitality mgr had agreed that by paying this I wouldn't owe the last night that I hadn't paid for yet . But at checkout they charged me an additional $205 for the one night that I hadn't paid for. I explained that the mgr and I had made an agreement that $415 would cover that night also due to the inconvenience. Apparently, she put a note that the $415 was the upgrade charge and I would still owe the last night. That wasn't our verbal agreement. I paid the charge reluctantly. It was a major inconvenience with the 3 total moves we made during our 10 day stay there. Our kids got 2 nice "Standard rooms" in the 3rd/4th floor.

The room was very clean, nice, and comfortable. Great balconies to sit on. All have an ocean view, which is nice. The walls are paper thin, so if there is a screaming baby in the other room, you will hear it. Luckily we only had a screaming baby neighbor the last night we were there. (People, please leave your kids at home!) The beach and water are beautiful! But the beach is PACKED full of chairs and people. Luckily you can sit for free in the hotel beach chairs BUT half the beach in front of the hotel is reserved for the hotel next door… so just be aware. The staff are all very nice and lovely. Super helpful. Isla Mujeres is packed full of people and most restaurants are blasting music as loud as possible, so be aware that everywhere is loud. Even when sitting on North Beach. We had a great time, but probably won’t go back to this island.

My family had an amazing time at Ixchel. First and foremost the location of this hotel and it’s beach was phenomenal. We never even left the island to visit Cancun because this place had everything we needed for our seven day stay. Initially, my husband had wanted us to stay at an all inclusive…I did research on hotels in Cancun and all the reviews were subpar with complaints about the beaches….but then I found Ixchel. It had consistently five star ratings which is why we booked it. And I’m so happy we did because it ended up being a great choice. Who needs all inclusive she there are so many great restaurants steps away from the hotel. We definitely will be back with. I especially loved the attendant’s , Virginlio and Vair, at the beach that provided space and located chairs to sit. The service at the beach was excellent, thanks to Chepo and many others!

This was a fantastic hotel! Very clean and beautiful. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and attentive. Beach was gorgeous! Dining and shopping within walking distance. I will say that this is a very family friendly hotel so if you’re going for relaxation, go somewhere else. There were a ton of little kids. Only “cons” for us were we wish there were more dining options on site, the beach was extremely crowded (but we always got lounge chairs). All in all it was a nice place.

I was there for three nights. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. I really loved my room. Temperature was perfect and I could stay under those sheets all day. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

We've stayed at the Ixchel before, and each time is an excellent, comfortable stay for our family. The location is perfect. Right on Playa Norte, just at the end of Hidalgo with all of the restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms are comfortable. We've only stayed at the 1-bedroom suite, with a full kitchen and separate living room and large balcony. Every single employee of the Ixchel that we interacted with is friendly and helpful. The only thing that I can think of that wasn't perfect was the WiFi, which was a little spotty at times, but get your head out of your smart phone and look up at the amazing views of the Caribbean! We would highly recommend the Ixchel Beach Hotel for couples and families.
